Silver Shootout Payout at $114,465

The Badlands Motor Speedway era is just 31 days away, and we’re opening the doors with a BANG!

The payout system is very unique and today the total payout jumped as the price of silver reached $17.11 per ounce. The entire purse on opening night, featuring the 410-Sprint Cars and Late Model Street Stocks, will be paid out in 10 oz. Silver Bars. If the race were today, the total purse for the May 21 opener would be $114,465 with $28,402 going to the 410-Sprint Car winner and $2,224 going to the Late Model Street Stock winner.

A driver can take his or her Silver Bars to Badlands Pawn the very next day and exchange them for cash. Or, they can hang to the bars to see if the price of silver will increase over time. Last September, Badlands Founder and CEO Chuck Brennan bought 669 10 oz Silver Bars. At that time, the bars were valued at $100,350 with the winner of the 410-Sprint Car feature taking home 166 of them – a value worth $24,900! Not a bad payday for the season-opener.

It might be worth hanging on to the silver. Four years ago, Silver was nearly three times its value today and its most certainly going to continue to climb.

PAYOUT SCHEDULE FOR SILVER SHOOTOUT

AS OF WEDNESDAY, APRIL 20, SILVER WAS SELLING AT $17.11 PER OUNCE

410 SPRINT CARS B FEATURE: 1st & 2nd = $0 but will tag back of the A Feature. 3rd-10th = 4 silver bars ($684), 11th-20th = 2 bars ($342).

No matter what I think of "Husets" and whats going on up there the paying our in silver and gold bars is pretty sweet. I don't know if I'd cash mine or not. Prob depends if the sprint fund was low probably. Credit where credit is due for doing something different.

And if the price drops to five dollars a ounce.  The purse is 1/3rd?   Granted it's creative and a reat payout as is.  But it could backfire especially in a election year.

That's absurd. The race is in 30 days. The price of silver is low right now, which is why we bought it at $15 an ounce. It's only going to go up and we wanted to give the drivers the option to hang on to it if they want. Silver hasn't been $5 per ounce since 1991. Again, it was nearly $50 an ounce in 2011. It will no doubt increase in years to come, but I can assure you it won't drop to $5 in the next 30 days.

If they trade it in now (or 30 days from now), it's going to be over $25,000 to win the feature.
