My Life being deafPeople wonder what it is like being deaf and it can be quite scary for anyone. Becoming deaf is like being lost in a city where people all around you that speak a different language. I know that it is hard to imagine life without hearing anything. Actually, I was not scared that I am deaf and I did not allow my deafness to control my life. I enjoy my life being deaf
Beats By Dre Pro. I was born hearing but when I was three year old, my mom was told by the doctor that I had a bilateral sensorineural hearing loss. It is a hearing lost in both ears that were the result of low hair cells of the spiral organ. So I have a moderate hearing loss. The hearing device like hearing aids is what helped me to hear everyday.
Life given to me was a blessing; I was raised and graduated at St. Mary's School for the Deaf. The school gave me a wonderful speech class and a wonderful education and taught me sign languages. Throughout my schooling there, I took many tests and practiced my hearing and speaking. Now, I am able to speak well and hear some. I can hear the phone, and speak through it, and I can understand what the person saying in conversations. I do lip reading, and I sign. Sometimes I do have struggles
Beats By Dre Solo HD. I have trouble understanding what a person is saying on the phone and in person (speaking so fast or speaking too low). I also struggle in hearing what a loudspeaker is saying because they sound like statics to me. Other struggles are that some people are not willing to communicate with me, just because I'm deaf. Other than that, I have many deaf friends and made friends with hearing people that accepted my deafness. I accepted that I became deaf and it is the best thing I ever felt in my entire life. I'm not in denial, I appreciate that I am deaf and I met many talented and skilled deaf people that appreciate their deafness. Don't be scared once you become deaf or meet deaf people. Deaf people are like hearing people but the only difference is hearing we have. How do we know how much we can hear? We take hearing screenings from birth as to growing up. Hearing screenings is a hearing test; a test to see how much people can hear. There are different hearing levels in deafness measured in decibels
Cheap beats by Dre. A decibel (db) is a sound intensity and is measured from 20 db to 120 db. From 20 db to 60 db which is mild to moderate hearing loss. Profound to severe hearing loss is from 61 to 120 db. So now we know how sounds can be measured for how much we can hear.Music is what deaf
