In a pregame ceremony, the Sabres retired the number 39 of former goaltender Dominik Hasek. Darren Helm scored near the midway mark of the first period when he skated down the right wing and used a heavy wrister from the circle to beat Neuvirth to the far side for the short-handed marker. Detroit grabbed a 2-0 lead at 7:34 of the second on the power play. Pavel Datsyuk snapped a one-timer from the right point that hit off Justin Abdelkader in front. Nyquist was there to backhand the rebound for his 16th of the season. Buffalo got on the board six minutes later off a crisp rush play. Drew Stafford brought the puck in down the left wing and sent it over to the right for Brian Flynn, who sent it back to his left where a trailing Weber wristed it in for his first of the season. The Red Wings, though, got it back less than two minutes later as Quinceys right point shot was stopped, and Tatar was in front to slip a backhand under the pads of Neuvirth. Adidas Originals Superstar Foundation Shoes.ca. Hi Kerry, In the Boston-Buffalo game on Wednesday night in the second period, Sabres defenceman Tyler Myers slashes Bruins forward Brad Marchand and then punches him in the head! How and why does Marchand get the penalty, with no call on Myers? He then scores a go-ahead goal! My question would be - does a supervising official between periods give the refs the talking down a player would get from his coach? This call could cost a team two points on very questionable officiating! Thanks,Ken MacAskill Ken: Both you and broadcast analyst Joe Micheletti made the correct call on this play.
