The Best Retro Air Jordan Basketball shoe Releases Of 2016
Blog Submitted by sh460121 on 04/28/2016 at 1:54 AM Report Blog
The Air Jordans 2016 numbered series has come a long way since it originally released as a Nike Basketball shoe. On the way to the top, it transcended the shoe industry as well as the game itself. The company continues to keep old fans, all the while drawing in new ones. The combination of their new releases and retroing of classic colorways from the AJ numbered series has created a formula for success that is unmatched. Jordan Brand unveiled its Spring 2016 Jordan Retro Collection. Eight different releases will be available beginning in January of 2016, with concepts inspired by "Alternate", "Posters", and "Dunk For Above" Collection. The first sneaker from Jordan Brand that will hit the shelves in April 2016 is apparently a mystery colorway of the Air Jordan 12 that is currently simply dubbed “White/Metallic Gold-University Blue." Among the various low-top models that are scheduled to return this year is the Air Jordan 9 Low "Bred" or "Snakeskin" that arrives in April. The Newest Jordans 2016 predominantly uses the brand’s beach color, with highlights coming in Nike's metallic gold and university red colors. The Just Don branding can be found on insoles, and "Just Don" and "23" is printed in metallic gold on university red tabs on the inside of the tongue. Early this morning Jordan Brand unveiled some of their upcoming retros for Spring 2016, with a number of brand new colorways for a few celebrated models. Arguably none of the new offerings are more intriguing than the "Poster Collection" which we're here to look at today, featuring The Air Jordan 2 Retro and Air Jordan 12 Retro in color-ups inspired by each shoe’s respective ad campaign. First is the Air Jordan 2, inspired by the original black and white print ad for the shoe from 1987, emblazoned with the statement "WING IT." picturing a close-up shot of MJ's kicks. The "Poster" Air Jordan 2 Retro features the same black and white color palette as the ad, with exotic croc-textured leather and "WING IT." displayed on the heels. 1997’s "The Master" poster inspires the “Poster” Air Jordan 12, also featuring the same color palette as the original graphic in black leather, with white, and gold accents. Cheap Jordans 2016 first collaborated with Don C's upscale hat label, Just Don, last year. For the second collaboration, the designer and the brand have reimagined the iconic Air Jordan 2 silhouette, using quilted leather to give the shoe a luxurious feel. The month will also mark the retail debut of the Air Jordan 1 that is inspired by a vibrant tracksuit that Michael Jordan had worn back in 1985 when he appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman. Although his best friend, rap superstar Kanye West, is down with Adidas, designer and Chicago native Don "Don C" Crawley has a collaboration coming out this weekend with Jordan Brand.
