Can you get into the place without much trouble? I don't think I ever attneded a race there either (I was very very young in the early 80s) and would like to have a look at the place sometime when I'm at Eldora.

What track is it and where is it located? How long has it been closed? It looks very wide. Let's reopen it and run wingless cars...looks like a nice corner for a slide job!

i enjoyed the races at the track and the atmosphere created by the owners/operators. it is a shame that owner of the "big" track down the road utilized predatory tatics and misrepresented his intentions when he lied to buy the track, solely to shut it down.

Tulsa Speedway in Northern Tulsa is one. was a hub for 410 sprints here in the 90's until a couple of Enid stock car drivers got a hold of it and ran it in the ground. The Oklahoma City half-mile might qualify as well. Maybe.

Someone may have more accurate information but here is what I know. New Bremen is slightly larger than Eldora with less bank and wide sweeping turns. I heard it was sold to the Crown Lift Truck Co. with the stipulation it could not be reopened as a Speed facility. I was by there about two years ago and you can get to it although there is not much left to see. Crown supposedly was going to make it into an employee Rec area but I don't think that happened. East of route 66 North of town. If that place could talk the stories would be endless. A fabulous facility with lots of room and and an outstanding race surface for it's day. Noise and all the other typical problems would exist in today's world but the people in New Bremen , Ohio are really great folks..Earl bought and sold one from us. Too close to Eldora he said! Sad state of affairs.

I went there a couple of times, when it was Dirt & Pavement. I remember being there & some of the cars that showed up early would park around 1 of the many trees behind the grandstands. 1 that really stands out for some reason is Jerry Nemire & his Sweet Sixteen setting under one of said trees in all it's glory. Sometimes progression does suck.

For those looking for photos/information on defunct old tracks, here are a few websites:
www.thevintageracer.com
www.motorsportscentral.com
www.ghosttracks.homestead.com/index.html
Anyone out there know of other websites on this topic?
