This is the first post announcing the first race in the 2007 VRA/Bandit Grand Slam Series for 360 sprint Cars. The first race of this year's series will take place at Bakersfield Speedway on Saturday April 7. Again in 2007 each race will pay $2,000 to win and $200 to start the feature event. Cars will qualify for heat race starting positions. 22 cars will start the feature event.

Below are listed the basic rules for the series for 2007. We will post pit gate prices and opening times early next week, just as soon as they are confirmed with the promoters of Bakersfield Speedway. VRA/BANDIT/SCRA GRAND SLAM SERIES GENERAL RULES 2007

The following are general rules that will be followed for the running of the 2007 VRA/BANDIT/SCRA Grand Slam Series.All competing cars are to be VRA 360 or Bandit 360 Series legal cars with the addition of the following items.

1.All cars must run the VRA approved unmolested Extreme or Spintech 180-degree quiet mufflers.Without these you cannot compete! No Exceptions!

2.All cars must run an approved, unmolested ASCS gasket even if they are running ASCS heads.Must be installed with logo to the top. No exceptions!

3.The right rear tire must be a Hoosier RC3.Drivers may run a VRA Stamped tire as run in the VRA series competition if they choose.

4.Left rear to be a Hoosier RC1 or harder compound Hoosier tire.No D10’s allowed. D12’s are ok, but not DR 12's.

5.Minimum weight of car to be 1,500lbs with driver at the conclusion of the feature event.

6.No rotating Titanium parts in engine, driveline and brake rotors. Titanium wheel bolts are ok.Example of Titanium parts allowed are shock pins, torsion bar stops, kingpins and spindle bolts.

7.No down nozzle injectors.

8.No Injector restrictors required.May be run if you wish.

9.HEADS: 23-degree valve angle heads only. No 18 degree heads. No roll over heads. No Brodix #12 heads. No canted valve heads.

10.All drivers need to completely fill out a Series entry form to facilitate purse payout and insurance requirements should the need arise.

11.Each race will be staffed by officials from each of the two sanctioning bodies to facilitate the smooth operation of the event. Any problem arising from the event shall be directed to said officials for solution.

12.Each feature event will be 30 laps in length and start 22 cars.The final format for the series will be determined and posted at each event.

13.All drivers will run qualifying laps to determine placement in the field for each event.

14.Each series event will pay a first place amount of at least $2,000 and a final feature position finish amount of $200.Each driver starting a semi main event, and not transferring to the feature event, will also receive a posted purse amount as well. The payout for each position will be posted at each event.

15.Points will be given for each event leading to series champion at the conclusion of the four race series.The point system will be posted at each event along with the current standings of competing drivers.

16.Event Dates and Locations: 1. Saturday April 7, Bakersfield, 2. Saturday July 28, Santa Maria, 3. Saturday October 13, Santa Maria and Saturday October 27 at Ventura. For pit opening times and front gate times, contact the respective tracks.

These are the basic rules to compete in this series.Be sure to read your sanctions rules and be aware of those rules as well as these additions.These rules will be enforced as written.Any changes will be posted prior to the events or as soon as they are decided upon.With everyone’s cooperation this series will continue to grow this year and in future years.

Hello Friends,

Thanks Cliff, I'd like to add these rules are essentially the same as operated through out the history of the GS series and remains consisitant. Being racer friendly and encouraging participation. No surprises just simply the best 360 racing in the United States.

Also, FYI, it is the first race for the Bandit Series which this year begins and ends on the road. As it starts in Bakersfield on April 7th and it will finish at Ventura on October 27th with points being awarded and championships being decided. It will be a Night of Champions on October 27th in Ventura!
