Man was there some terrific racing at the Chili Bowl last night!!! (as we've come to expect)
Now the bad news,
It's supposed to start freezing rain at 4PM today and last until dawn SUNDAY Morning. 1/2 inch to 1 inch of ice expected.
The only hope tonight is that the ground takes a loooong time to freeze. No problem getting to the expo tonight but lookout coming home! Easy on the suds boys and be ready for it a 10:30 tonight.
Tomorrow, pray! We need all the rock salt in five states delivered to all routes leading to and from the Tulsa Expo Hall!
This Louisiana boy is heading home and I hate that but I know what my ice-driving skills are like. I'd rather try 6 inches of snow but I ain't ready for either. Them Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin folk would be OK with snow but nobody can drive on ice!
Guess the only thing I can do Saturday night now is watch the Saints break my heart again....

There's only one ice bowl and I was there. It was in Stillwater,Oklahoma. I thought I'd get a chance to see the best running back ever play that night. Barry Sanders. I nstead, the sooners and cowboys could not get much going because of the weather. Coldest I've ever been in my life.

Yep hook, your in for a ride of your life. Just take it easy on your way and as I have said for years now and it means more now than ever before, take care and watch out for the other guy.

Hey, I beat it out of there!
We left Tulsa at 10AM and it was 31 with icycles just starting to form on the signs -- roads and overpasses were fine then. Got to Hugo and it was almost 70! Got home and it was 78 and humid. Of course we have thunderstorms coming later tonight and tomorrow but at least it ain't ice.
Bad in Tulsa now. 24 with a wintry mix. Y'all be carefull....
54 degrees difference between Shreveport and Tulsa. What a cold front!

I'm listening to Racinboys.com's broadcast of the Chili Bowl now. It was free and easy to register and the broadcast is real clear with good sound quality and the Racinboy announcers are doing a great job!

congrats to you hook. Want to hear what crazy is?
Crazy is me and my significant other driving from the Chili Bowl Saturday night back west of Oklahoma City. And this appears to be the case. If we stay we still have to leave by 1pm Sunday, and it will be worse then. May the Lord above and luck both be on my side tonight!

I hear ya brother. We wussed out and stayed home friday night. If we go saturday we will probably come home after the races also. The weather has sucked. This is when I wish I either lived in Tulsa or I had to come in from out of state and was there no matter what.
