the guys in the office were talking about what might happen in 2007 with every one all reunited and all. they realized after taking stock of who all would be traveling with the woo that there well could be upwards of 26 teams out there fighting for 24 starting spots per night. i am not going to get into naming them all but you can figure it out for yourself.so then they started wondering with all that competition how many races could one driver win in 2007.and who could win the most.heck, there could be 25 different winners in 2007 and maybe no one driver could get into double didget wins.what do you think?do you think the competition will be so tough that no one can get at least 10 wins?

I'll give Kinser 10 wins and the Dude 10. I think Kinser will be back strong after not having to worry about the other distractions he had last season.

In 2004 I think there was 18 different A main winners plus some others that won prelims only. One guy I remember that didn't that year was Daryn Pittman.

You could have 50 teams travel and the cream will still rise to the top. A few of the 30 plus mentioned wouldn't make the feature on a regular basis anyway ( just like last year). Just wait till the season gets about 35-40% into it. You will then see the teams that can't afford not making the show and not getting show $$$$ start falling off the circuit. There will be double digit winners and the names will be the ones we have all known to be there before.

Since only 8 of 16 full time travelers won an A-main in 06 I would say it would be hard for the 8 that did not win against a split field to win agaist a reunited field. So I do not see 25 different A-main winners. JMO

One thing to remmember is that when you have a large # in your touring group, it becomes harder for thr "locals" to pull off the upset. oh, this WILL happen, just not very often. Now, to look at why it happens this way: # 1) the sheer #s of the travelers will match the number of locals. usually the trvelers are better equipped ergo, the fastest to the A main. #2) i think this is most important....after a time or or three of getting their asses kicked by the road gang & watchin the $$$ leave their track, a lot of the locals will find another "local" track to run & shun the chance to beat the higher funded teams. WHY? Because now they know they have chance at some $$$$ AND with that chance, the possibility is greater that they can achieve the $$$ without using up their cars & a rig full of inventory. #3) and that leads us to the # of wins teams may/maynot achieve thisr yr. KOP is right & most all of 'em have run all of the tracks, so it's not rocket science. the good teams keep good notes & records on each place & go fast every visit. me? i think it's ripe to have at least 2, maybe 3... double digit winners. all big names. What to watch , will be the up & comers with wins in the 5-7 range. they will be the ones who weather the long season & rather than drop out towards the end, will be wanting to finish strong & will already be looking to the future.

What i wonder about is the outlaws start the season with some 26 teams, but they finish with ? teams. My guess would be eighteen to twenty.

I'll get to witness both ends of the numbers. Only about 65 days or so until the first Manzy visit of their 2007 schedule, and then one of the last races of their season in late October.

I can't wait.

Mmmm... Just as well the numbers on full-time tour is swelling. Because with only 10 or so genuine weekly 410 tracks, there are'nt too many "locals" to make up the numbers any more.

A few years back there were closer to 30 different winners than 20, where is Kevin Eckert when you need him, hello? This number was including preliminary nights which need to be counted as A-Main wins anyway. It's time the Outlaws grandfathered in all those prelim winners, wouldn't you agree? Take It Easy....

Gotta agree with ya Mikey. Preliminary features are as hard won as the next nights main.

The "have not's" will be thinned out by the end of March.

Oh, BTW, Kinser will do a repeat of 2005....

I think that it will slim down to 20 teams at the end of the season, with maybe 1 or 2 still lingering. With WoO paying 20 teams tow money........I would think they should always have 20 teams.

After Knoxville there are usually around 15-17 teams that head west. Don't expect much more than that. Tow money won't pay the bills. If teams can't get out of the B main they won't last long.

there are 16 woo teams from last year that will more than likely run the whole deal.add in 6 more good teams from nst (skr (2),dude,smokes team, parsons, meyers) and one more team from kasey khane (?) and you have 23 teams that could run the whole deal. i'm sure there are a few more teams that will run most of the deal too. heck with the 16 outlaws from last year and 10 from the nst would give you 26 teams. now i know not all of the guys that ran nst may run a full woo (rilat, sides) ? but you have to be open to the possibility of a competetive season. unless of course schatz just kicks butt. i don't see the dude kicking butt, but i do see him getting his share of wins. pitman, campbell ,tk ,meyers, haud, saldana,sk, all have a shot at winning some, then you throw in the rest of the group (heck becca might even win one) hannagan, paulie mac ,t-mac,the pa posse. it is not too far out of line to say things could get very interesting. hey, even the not so great teams have a shot to just get plain lucky one night and pull one off. imagine if every team could win just one race (i know, not likely) heck that would be 23-26 winners in 2007.jmo.
