Sprint Car Bandits & Texas Sprint Series Alliance on Display at the Texas Motorsport Expo December 7th!

Garland, TX (11/08/19) by DarinShort.com. As announced in September, officials of the DFW-based Sprint Car Bandits® (SCB) series and Texas Sprint Series (TSS) have formed a synergistic alliance for the 2020 racing season – and beyond. Both groups will be displaying at the upcoming 30th Annual Texas Motorsport Expo & Auction presented by Smiley’s Racing Products on Saturday, December 7th. The Expo doors open at the Mesquite Convention Center at 8am.

With the Expo now just four weeks away, we encourage race teams, fans and track workers to save this date and join in for a great kick-off to the 2020 racing & buying season. Soon the complete event vendors list and details will be posted. Click www.TexasMotorsportExpo.com for more information.

At this year’s Expo we will have at least one car on display in the SCB/TSS display areas (which makes for great family pictures for the Holidays – as witnessed last year) plus there will be Series and driver apparel for sale – perfectly timed for stocking stuffers!

For those unfamiliar, the SCB is a 360C.I. Sprint Car series and the TSS is a RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car group. There is some crossover with the drivers that choose to race in both series, but that is not the focus of this alliance – growing track fan attendance is.

This collaborative effort will allow each series to book events at area tracks in a manner that will allow them a much higher level of fan retention, as the goal is to have one series, or the other, racing on one night only. Little, if any, rules changes in each respective series are planned by this new alliance.

Timing for this collaboration has been set into motion with the recent reopening of Boyd Raceway, with Richard Snider at the helm – Richard also operates the Texas Sprint Series.

Snider comments: “With Boyd Raceway reopening, it requires my full-time attention, and the Texas Sprint Series has such a great group of racers. The reality is sinking in that I can’t handle both without one affecting the other. “

Snider continues: “That being said, I’ve been a big fan of the Sprint Car Bandits series and have been to several of their events the past four seasons. The fan excitement they create with the Fan Fests and quality of racing is electrifying. Plus, they understand the economics of sprint car racing on each side of the fence – and to the track operators as well. So, I cannot think of a better arrangement than for the ‘Bandits to handle the intertwined schedules and event marketing for the Texas Sprint Series.”

“We are hosting several events at Boyd Raceway for both the SCB and TSS in 2020, and I’m really excited about the future of both groups – and the health and sustainability of sprint car racing – in the Metroplex and surrounding areas. In this era, we need as much cooperation between series and tracks as possible, and this is a giant leap in the right direction.” Snider concludes.

Darin Short (Sprint Car Bandits co-founder) comments: “Booking events at area tracks has always been such an arduous and complex task, and it can take months of work and planning to create an effective schedule for the upcoming racing season. With this new collaboration, it’s taken out one significant variable out of the formula, as now we know what nights are available – and which ones aren’t – so we don’t double-book events on top of each other unknowingly. We want to help to maximize fan turnout at all these events. And fans not having to choose one sprint race or the other is a good step in the right direction to meeting that goal. We now have a combined schedule that doesn’t have both series racing on the same night during the entire season, which is a revolutionary accomplishment for Sprint Car racing in this region, and is posted at the top of the homepage of www.SprintCarBandits.com.”

Short continues: “Many tracks don’t release their schedules at the same time, so you can be left hanging wondering if the event dates you have booked will stick once they release theirs. Now we know, as our events are already booked in advance of the full track schedules being released.”

Will Eggimann, Principal with the SCB comments: “There are so many positive scenarios with this alliance that make sense for teams, fans, marketing partners and promoters – and that’s been our ultimate goal all along with the SCB.”

Eggimann continues: “We will also expand the online visibility of the TSS, which in turn will help with added fan-awareness and track attendance.”

A limited number of remaining events in each series are available. If you are an area track promoter or owner that would like to book dates, please email Darin at [email protected] ASAP with your preferred event dates (and series selection) along with your contact information and we’ll get back in touch immediately to confirm those dates or available alternative dates. Both series’ have a goal of limiting the travel distance to about 150 miles of the DFW Metroplex.

Businesses interested in Marketing Partnership programs for the 2020 season (for both the TSS and SCB) can email [email protected] and we will get back to you right away.

As stated earlier, there are no significant rules or procedure changes being planned for either series.

Be watching for the next round of series news on our traditional marketing channels, such as www.SprintCarBandits.com and on Facebook @SprintCarBandits or by keywords Texas Sprint Series.

THANK YOU once again to all the teams, fans, marketing partners, series workers, track workers, series tracks and vendors for their support of both series’ in 2019 – and we’re really looking forward to a highly coordinated 2020 racing season with the Sprint Car Bandits series and Texas Sprint Series!
