I see we're already on the 'who will win the Knoxville Nationals'  kick and the 'posse vs. the world' kick. Why not combine the fun?

Who finishes further ahead at the 2019 Knoxville Nationals, Brian Brown, or Lance Dewease? And why?

Welp the way he has that place figured out unless he is a DNF would have to be Brown.

Let's not forget that Brian Brown actually passed Schatz on lap 44 and actually led a couple of laps before Schatz got back around him.   I believe that was 2014.

Yes 2014, kinda felt like he gave it away. Donny was better on the bottom of 3 and 4 than he was up top, maybe could've moved down to take the line. I think you go back and he chooses a little different, hindsight is 20/20 though. How about 2012 when he was 1/2 straight behind the 15 going down the back stretch on the last lap and ended up 1 car behind him at the flagstand?? Hell of a finish!

Out of the 2 I would like to see Brian Brown not only do better but win it. And no that is not because I do not like Lance Deweese & no it is not because I am against the Posse & no it is not because I think the 69K is over rated and can only win on "the porch."

Quite honestly the whole thing with the 69K is getting annoying with all the talk on both sides. 1 side says that they are only good in 1 area & can't do anything outside of Central PA & the other side says Central PA is the end all be all of racing and nothing else matters.

Why Can't the 69K team just be a great team? Why does it matter where they choose race? Why Can't Lance Deweese be a great driver in general instead of only good "on the porch." Why can't Central PA just be a great area for sprint car racing without all of the B.S? Why is it always an us vs everyone else mentality?

I hope the Knoxville Nationals gets a good car count and everyone is safe while racing there. I won't be pulling against anyone per say but pulling for the guys I pull for. I would love to see Brian Brown win it and see someone that has worked so hard accomplish his dream. I would love to see Brad Sweet win it again or Larson or Macedo. But if someone like Schatz or Deweese or any other member of the Posse or Outlaws wins it is not going to ruin my experience.

Id say Brown. I think he coulda won it at least once but he cant seem to run a clean Nationals main.  He'll jump the cushion or bounce off something.

My hypothesis for your third paragraph questions goes something like this:

The majority of people living on this blue marble lead lives that garner them no real satisfaction and/or joy to speak of. This leads to people distracting themselves by following a local ball team, or some sort of recreational activity which in this case is sprint car racing. When said local club or sprint car team enjoys a modicum of success, these same people glom onto that success because it provides them an uplifitng moment or two in their otherwise meaningless lives.

Then, when someone from the next town or next state tries to remove that uplifitng moment via a derogatory tweet, or some other social media posting it leads to the almighty pissing contest of which we have become so accustomed to.

This moment of nihilism has been brought to you by Life. Life: Quite a shitty cereal, quite a board game, but mostly, quite a interesting ride.

Why answer a question with a question? I'm curious how folks perceive the odds of one compared to the other. I've seen Brown race maybe once or twice but never seen Dewease race in person.

It’s a bit like asking if Brown goes to the National Open who the bigger threat to win is. At Knoxville Brown is clearly the top choice and at the Grove Lance is clearly the top choice.

Why ask why? Try Bud Dry.... if you can find it anywhere.

Wait never mind. I think it last came out in the early 90's, so if you were to find a bottle it would most likely be horrific.

I have nothing productive to add to the conversation, so I'll pour a glass of Glenlivet and listen to an NBA podcast.

Pretty solid explanation. I guess it kinda comes back to pride & specifically local pride which I have never been able to understand. I feel the same way as George Carlin said in a stand up that pride should be something when that is earned, not through accident of birth.

There are several drivers in this country that are talented and it has nothing to do with where they are born. That's just a matter of circumstances. Even drivers that lose rides every year go to different places based on where they can get hired. For every Logan Schuhart from PA there is a Carson Macedo from Cali & raced in Ohio, or Sheldon from Ohio, or Good Scelzi from California. It's spread out.

Just my opinion but if Lance wins the Nationals it's because he's a great driver with a great team. Not because of being or from PA. Same with Brian Brown, not because he's from Missouri & races at Knoxville, same with Schatz not because he's from North Dakota and races anywhere. You win the Nationals because of the ability of everyone, not because of where everyone was born.

And when Logan Schuhart wins the Nationals it's because he's a great driver with a great team, and because he has racing in his genes. You read it here first- Logan Schuhart, 2019 Knoxville Nationals champion.

cubic, such a entity of wisdom. Care to bet 69K vs. 21 for Nationals? I'm sure among all the unseedy HH posters, we can find a good escrow.

Either car could finish ahead of the other obviously as circumstances and good/bad luck always come into play at the Nationals.

However, if both cars unload at their best in Knoxville, and both run clean heats and features, I can't see how the 21 could possibly finish behind the 69k on Saturday night.  I see the 21 competing for the win----as he has done a number of times over the last 7 years.  I don't see the 69k competing for the win.  A top 10 is not out of the question.  A top 3 is unlikely.  I cannot say the same for the 21.

JMO of course---if I were forced to bet my life on it, I would be the 21 all day.

Exactly...

My 3 visits to the Nationals, Brown has finished 2nd both times, to the Mighty Schatz

Lance wins almost every time I see him race in Pa.....(since he joined Dream Team)
