Erstwhile USAC West Coast 360 drivers Mitchell Facinto, Landon Hurst, Cole Macedo, Jace & Richard Vander Weerd, Bud Kaeding, Craig Stidham, Danny Faria and D. J. Netto all fugured in Saturday night's Kings of Thunder winged 360 show on a very fast track at Hanford last night. (Almost everone Q'd in the :13s.)

Faccinto (#37, Hanford) hung on to win the 30-lap feature against a very determined Netto (#88, Hanford) who came all the way back to second from the back of the field after a banger later in the going. Kaeding (#0, Campbell) and Hurst (#9s, Riverdale) were in the hunt most of the way along with Stidham (#3, Fresno). Macedo (#21, Lemoore) was hot early on, but spun. Faria (#67v, Tipton) lookeed like he was headed for hard charger honors coming from 20th to 7th, but slipped back after one of the many restarts. Neither of the Vander Weerds (#88, #10, Visalia) had a great night, however. Thus -- it does now seem, and in view of the car count at B'field -- topless racing is at least currently on the wane in the Big Valley.

16-year-old phemale phenom Brooklyn "Pretty" Holland (#2, Fresno; of the almond-growning family? not sure) made it two in a row at Keller Auto Speedway in the Western RaceSaver 305 wings without ever even testing the tops of the corners at either end of the 3/8s mile oval... and after taking a very hard slide job shot from Michael Pombo (#53, Easton) with only three or four laps left to go that sent her back to third after leading most of the way. The many blondes in the stands were not happy about that, but were pleased as she zipped right by the two cars in front of her chop-chop to pull away yet again in the final circuit. Like I said last time, "Watch this space."
