I have been seeing a lot of new sponsorship dollars thrown out by Wicked Cushion/Wicked Energy Gum. I cant help but wonder where this guy is getting all of his money. He is on quite a few cars, sponsors a series and is involved heavily in the sim world. He is the main sponsor for Kasey Kahne's #9 and is also on Brad Sweet's #49 which is in no way CHEAP. I love that new people are getting in the sport but it just seems odd to me that he came virtually out of no where with all of this (kind of like the Richard Marshall deal a few years back). Does anyone know anything about this?

you should find the interview he did with Tony Elliot i think it was, it explains what wicked cushion is and does
mat has a deep passion for sprint cars and midgets, and like you said he is heavily involved with the iracing platform
the sponsor the DOB leagues that run Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights. it is a neat thing to see this happening.

He did an interview that can be found on YouTube with Jermey Elliott of Sprint Car Unlimited. Very informative. Wicked Cushion is a marketing company and has recently brought on new sponsors to the sport for Craig Kinser and Dave Blaney. The company was started last year.

I'm no expert but the guy seems to be involved in a lot of finance related stuff. I've done a little searching and given all the different companies I've seen interwoven and linked together, Hope I'm wrong, but I don't feel this one ends well.

Saw the same thing when I looked the guy up. Wasn't sure if it was the same person though. If it is I kind of have the same feeling. When financial investors with multiple companies involved in motorsports I automatically think the worst. Ponzi scams, money laundering, etc. Remember Chris Luck with GLR, plus multiple people who tried starting Nascar teams or drive for them (Scott Tucker, Justin Boston's father, Brian Rose, and recently accused DC Solar). Hopefully this is legitimate
