F1 lost me a long time ago.......kinda the anti-sprint car ...technology on steroids and way, way over-the-top money.
But check-out Netflix Formula 1 - Drive to Survive. It's pretty darn good. And, it doesn't hurt that the wife liked it - maybe more than me.
It's true to it's title - hardly a mention of the top three teams. It's about the struggles of the mid/bottom teams and drivers. The mid/bottom teams include - believe it or not - McLaren - with, once darlings of the sport, Williams, at the bottom - the very bottom - like clinging to life bottom.
The USGP episode has a pretty good segment where Haas driver Kevin Magnussen takes a spin in Tony Stewart's sprint car at some track, I assume in Texas.
Does anyone know that track? It sure didn't look like much. Maybe some secret Tony Stewart test track or something???? I'm going to look at it again but I didn't see any bleachers - it just looked like a run-down place but it appeared that maybe there was some other track adjoining it.

They were posting about this on reddit a while back. One poster believed the track was Carolina Speedway in Gastonia, NC. I have no idea either way.
The top three F1 teams aren't in the documentary becasue they refused to sign off to be in it. Presumably because while they were in the midst of a heated points battle, they didn't want to have any potential secrets get leaked out.

It's Carolina Speedway. On the episode right when they go to the track for Magnuson to drive Smoke's car they show the sign for track.

He's right it's mostly about the bottom teams but they did quite a bit about Red Bull, so maybe Ferrari and Mercedes didn't sign off but they did stuff on it with Red Bull. For instance the best part of the show is probably when Red Bull makes the decision to leave Renault. They follow Horner around when he makes the decision and then to the awkt moment with the head guy at Renault, they then do the same thing with Riccardo when he makes the decision to leave Red Bull for Renault.
