81 Speedway Ready for Two Huge Nights of “Traditional” Non-Wing Sprint Action!

NCRA Modified and Mod Lites Join the Card on Saturday Night

Park City, Kansas – August 13, 2018 - Sprint Car racing fans throughout the state of Kansas will get their best 2018 dose of “traditional” non-wing Sprint Car racing action as race number three and four of this week’s Sixth Annual USAC Southwest Sprint Cars “Freedom Tour” takes place this Friday and Saturday night, August 17-18, at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas.

The four-race mini-series takes place over the course of four nights beginning on Wednesday night at Little Rock’s I-30 Speedway before moving on to Sapulpa, Oklahoma’s Creek County Speedway on Thursday night and then culminating with two big nights at Park City, Kansas’ 81 Speedway near Wichita on Friday and Saturday.

Plenty of prize money is up for grabs as well with a $2,500 winner’s share hanging in the balance over all four nights along with $250-to-start for each feature event.

Current USAC Southwest Sprint Car points leader Charles Davis, Jr., of Buckeye, AZ, leads the southwest contingent that includes the likes of Mike Martin, Dennis Gile, Stevie Sussex, Shon Deskins, Chris Bonneau, Matt Lundy and Bobby Seals among others.

Best known as “Chargin’ Charles”, Charles Davis, Jr., topped last year’s opening leg at I-30 Speedway before parking it once again at the 81 Speedway beer garden in the Saturday night finale to run his career “Freedom Tour” win total to four triumphs.

Three-time and defending National Championship Racing Association 360-ci sprint car champion Jeremy Campbell of Wichita will look to defend his “home turf” against the USAC Southwest travelers.

Others expected to take on the travelers over at least portions of the week include Sapulpa’s Danny Smith, Andrew Deal, Jonathan Beason, Kyle Clark, Forrest Sutherland, Michelle Decker, Tim Kent, Casey Wills, Anthony Nicholson, David Stephenson and more.

Past Winners: Rick Ziehl (2013), Mike Martin (2014), Mike Martin (2015), Mother Nature (2016), R.J. Johnson (2017 Friday night), Charles Davis, Jr. (2017 Saturday night).

Along with the USAC Southwest sprint cars on Friday night, the tracks weekly divisions of Modifieds, AAA Modifieds, Rookie Modifieds and Thumpers will also be on the race card. Gates will open at 5:00 PM with race action set for a 7:00 PM start time. Grandstand admission is just $15 for adults and children ages eleven and under will be admitted into the grandstands for free.

Saturday night’s card will see the NCRA modified and NCRA mod lite drivers join the USAC Southwest sprint cars in an official point race for both divisions. Gates once again open at 5:00 PM with race action slated for a 7:00 PM start time. Grandstand admission for adults will be $20 while children ages eleven and under will be admitted into the grandstands for free.

81 Speedway will have “business appreciation” night both Friday and Saturday night where you and a guest could be admitted into the grandstands for free. To see if you are eligible, check out the tracks official facebook page: Race 81 Speedway.

More race and track information can be found on the tracks official website www.race81speedway.com or by calling the speedway office (316) 755-1781. The speedway is located North of Wichita on I-135 to exit 16, then 0.7 mile west on 77th street in Park City.
