Yeh I know I've spoken about how wouldas, couldas and shouldas and ifs and buts have no place in real conversationn and factual thought. But we can do some just for the fun of it. I'll start........
If Doug Wolfgang hadn't been hurt in 1992, and had a long career like Steve and Sammy, I'm quite certain that he "woulda" won additional Knoxville Nationals and Kings Royals. He had won the Nationals in '89, and won the Kings Royal in '90. So he wasn't that far removed from having won the big ones. And up and until his injury he was still winning WoO races. So winning, in particular at Knoxville, would not have been a real stretch. I think he "coulda". :)

If Bill Rook hadn't been killed in a crash in a 360 race at Husets Speedway in about 1987, he would have moved uo to 410's. From there, he would have been a Husets point champion, a Jackson pont champion, a Knoxville point champion and owned quite a few WoO and All-Star wins. The guy was that good.

If I woulda decided to race a sprint car, I woulda won some races, shoulda ran WoO, and coulda won Knoxville 20 times by now. Pointless thread.

Rook came up from the fendered classes and was a heck of a racer. He sure looked like he'd have a great career ahead of him in the sprints. That was a very tragic night.

+ 1 And I would have hired you to drive my car and we would have been as successful as Karl and Steve Kinser.

Scary part about Wolfgang, in his book he feels that at the time of his accident, he felt he was just getting good. Had the accident not happened I’m guessing he’d have won some more big shows, my only hope, and I don’t mean to peeve any Sammy fans off, is that he’d have k own “when it was time” and hung it up on top, unlike Mr Swindell.

Is that a woulda, a coulda, or a shoulda?

Just can't get over it, can you? I'm beginning to wonder if it's sour grapes you're choking on or Brennan's balls!
