I understand that there have been some rumors floating around about the amount of money, or lack there of that was distributed at the SFS Banquet. This is very disturbing to me because some of the people that are rumored to be voicing their dislikes over the amount of money from the points fund are some of the same ones who do not participate in any of the fund raising projects, nor do they volunteer their time to achieve a larger points fund. The monies raised and distrubuted were done by a mere handful of people who graciously worked their rears off to accomplish the monies that were distributed. If you are one of the ones voicing your opinion, then my offer to you is to come join the booster club, donate your time and effort by working hard to make sure that the next points fund is even better than this one. So I am extending this offer to everyone to come and join the booster club and make a difference. Otherwise, you really don't have a right to complain about the money that was distributed.

Thank you for taking time to read this.

Of course they have a right to gripe. Anybody who sits on their butts and cheers and degrades other drivers and don't care about any other driver out there deserves to have everything handed too them. You surely don't think the right thing to do would be to sit back and collect while others do the volunteer work now do you?

Personally, I think if you care about your racing here locally and your goal is to win the SFS/ORA championship and collect a points fund at the end of the year then the driver or somebody affiliated with the driver needs to step up, even one Friday night, and either sell 50/50 tickets, help organize a car wash or anything else that would help generate income for the points fund. There are over 200 drivers at SFS and yet only a couple bust their backends every Friday night for you racers. Maybe, just maybe about 95% of you out there need to step up to the plate and help out - even for one night.

I would be willing to bet that you go one year without a booster club and no points fund then the same people would bitch and moan too.

I personally have never cared for the ORA. BUT, if it wasn't for the ORA and the ladies that work their butts off for the booster club, the racers wouldn't have anything at years end. I too heard some comments that were made by some people about how much they recieved. Like I said if it wasn't for the booster club and ORA these same people wouldn't get crap. You would get your silkscreened jackets on the front straightaway at the Winter nationals. Be thankful for what you get.

Now leta,

Personally, I think that was way too nice!!! Just say what we all wanna say. Screw You if you don't like it! Tell that sprint car wife to take about 5 of her friends and round up 25,000.00 in less than a year, one night a week. Sweat her pretty lil a$$ off sellin 50/50 tickets in 105 degree weather. Or to take five days out of her week to put a program together, Or to sit in the breezeway all night and miss most of the races to sale pictures, or to have to round up donations all week so some little kid can B a junior fan for the night. Apparently these ppl think very little of the Booster club and fail to realize what effort actually goes into makin this money. Do you really think we like to cook? That were just lil old ladies that have nothin better to do than bake cookies and cakes for bake sales? Cause WE don't!!! This is done for the top ten drivers! Cause we thought they might appreciate it, OBVIOUSLY SOME DON'T!!! By the way if you wasn't happy with the amount give it back and we will put it towards this years points fund....

No offence to the guys that do help and appreciate it...

I don't know much about this whole thing. From what I have heard and seen the Booster Club works very, very hard to get their stuff done. And then the top guys, probably sprint drivers, wants to bitch because they are spending all this outrageous amount of money to run EXCLUSIVELY at SFS and don't like what they are getting back. This isn't the ASCS.......you are not going to win 50 grand or anything near it. The only thing sprint drivers are really gonna get back for winnin a championship at OKC is just that....the Championship. It wouldn't matter how much the Booster Club raises........when guys are in part BUYING championships they shouldn't get their panties in a wad when they don't get re-imbursed.

Booster Club keep up the good work you do. I have thought that if Lanny brought WoO back it could possibly lead to a race date on TV in the future and that would really help with pullin sponsorship for points fund and other things. Just a thought. Having a company or someone sponsor a point fund might take a lot of the burden of the Booster Club

BTW how does South Coffeyville pull off their point fund? They don't get the car count or fan attendance that OKC does. sponsorship maybe?

Promoter with DEEEP pockets and don't expect the WoO to return to OKC anytime in the near future.

Thank you Sumer for so explicitly putting into words what I was trying to say. Thanks to all who have noticed our hard work...we are but a few individuals...but very MIGHTY!! And if you think you can change this, we welcome you to come and lend your assistance as we frankly have worked our rears off for little or no gratitude! And any assistance would be greatly appreciated!!! COME ON...LET'S CHANGE 2007 TO BE EVEN BETTER!!!

why not David? They are being ran by DIRT who has since changed the majority of its personnel. I know that Lanny was pissed he lost a lot of money the last year he ran em but for him to be that pissed did something else happen? or what exactly did happen?

Leta and Sumer: I just read this thread about the point fund complaining on this year. I am extremely confused as to what is going on. Leta only generically speaks about the entire issue, but, Sumer Jorski referred to the problem as being a "sprint car driver's wife", and then David Jones told Brandon Jennings that if he wasn't starting problems it was one of his relatives.. Brandon only has a couple of relatives that are "sprint car driver's wives". I am starting to get the hint that you all are talking about me. Why on earth would this be being said about me? I asked Jacqui at the banquet if there was another check coming from the track itself, because there has always been 2 seperate checks, not everything all together in 1. And then I was talking to Jacqui about how come it was less and she was telling me how Lanny didn't contribute as much pitpass money this year to the booster club. Jacqui knew I was just wanting to make sure that there wasn't another check supposed to be coming in the mail. I have NEVER said anything negative about the booster club. I think it is great that there are people that work their butts off every week to bring in point fund money. Even though I am not a member myself I contribute through most of the fundraisers by purchsing pictures on a weekly basis (and LOTS of them!!) fans favorite driver, 50/50 at the track and at every meeting, purchasing cakes and cookies at the bake sale, cookbook purchases, quilt tickets during the banquet and 4th of July. So for anyone to make a reference to me that I don't contribute to the point fund myself is total b.s. Sure the point fund was less this year, but, that happens. Anyone that has been around long enough knows it always seems to go up and down from year to year. I have several friends in the booster club like Jacqui, Rick, Wendy, Sandra and Leta and I would never want them or any other member to think badly of me for something that I didn't say. Danny and I certainly appreciate everything the entire booster club does for the drivers and I just wanted to make sure that you all know that. I don't know for sure who this topic was directed to, but, I wanted to make sure that you heard directly from me since I got a strong feeling you all were referring to me. Have a great holiday. Jaime

Jamie,

Thank you for taking time to read and post. My original post was because I had heard "rumors". My intention was speficially to defend the Booster Club against these "rumors". In my opinion a rumor is usually a statement taken out of context...or blown out of proportion...which we all know happens frequently.

Therefore, I posted no names, or any specifics. My intention was solely to stop the rumors and to put our side of the story out. More specifically, to let everyone know if they felt they could do better, that the Booster Club would welcome anyone to come and join us. I am sure these comments have been made from more than one source which is why I considered them rumors. Therefore, I treated the subject as I did in my original post.

Thank you to everyone who did support our efforts, no matter how big or small the support was...it was greatly appreciated.

With all of this being said and done, I appreciate everyone reading the post and we hopefully will have a better 2007 season...so everyone needs to get ready to make 2007 THE BEST EVER. Have a happy holiday season to all!!! See everyone in 2007!!!
