I'm thinking 55 cars. Ill likely wait till the morning of the race and if all looks well I'll ride up as I'm only 2.5 hrs away.

Been thinking about this all day. I agree that the WoO being elsewhere that more local and grass roots guys will show up. At least I hope. Can totally understand why an average team would not go to Knoxville but the timing of this event is genius. Setting it up so the WoO cant come seems dumb at first thought but it gives a lot of other guys a chance at some 5th to 10th place finishes.

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

It's genius until you consider the weather in northern Ohio in April and the fact they had some pretty major issues at their races last year. I'd thought they'd had a race or two just to get the kinks straightened out. all that coupled with a $88 advance ticket price which will like be more the day of the show i will wish them well and be hoping for great weather.

They haven't released a schedule yet so I wouldn't be surprised to see the March date return this year to work the kinks out.

I know when this race was first announced, Brock Zearfoss said this would be the first race put on his 2018 schedule, so guarantee he will be there.    Wouldn't be surprised if Hodnett, Lucas Wolfe, Mark Smith, and a few others came out too.

I read Matt Campbell is already entered and also heard Cory Haas and Allen Krimes are very likely to go. Also hearing Montieth and Rahmer are staying at Lincoln. I would think more top PA teams would support this race. Teams complain about costs then a promoter steps up and top teams stay home. It's only a 4 hour ride from central PA.

2000 to start... You need to finish 2nd locally to get that.

Lincoln has a bigger paying show the same night.

What? Lincoln isn't paying 100000 to win and 2000 to start. Am I missing something?

I think he means that it's a higher paying show than just the normal weekly event. $6,900 to win race at Lincoln. I initially thought the same as you. I can see why some drivers would stay at a track they know when they know the can win the larger share of money in a small pond rather than take a chance at a race that's gonna have 50-60+ drivers and if you don't make even the Non-Quali race pays $150 for the drive out there. Or simply if you're racing for points and are gonna be towards the top in that it's not really worth sacrificing the season points purse. Anyways, I'm more than happy for all the PA drivers to come over here. Enjoyed seeing some guys from over in PA during Great Lakes Dirt Nats.

I'm guessing 50-60 cars will be there.

I would guess some Knoxville regs (K Madsen, TMac, Brown) will make the trip.

Teams like Saldana, Gaerte 3G,  not following any one series, and probably all the ASCoC teams will be there.

I would also think many PA guys as well.

I hope the show is successful and they build on it for next year.

4 hours....no way.   I live right next to Lincoln and it's about a 7 hour drive to Mansfield.  It's 4 hours just to get to Pittsburgh.   That's with no stops for gas or food.    The race at Lincoln is paying $6,900 to win and it's a race Montieth wins almost every year, plus he usually honors Weldon Sterner by carrying the #69 top wing, so he won't be out in Ohio.    Plus their shop is 30 seconds from Lincoln.

Danny Dietrich was just asked on Twitter the other day if he'd be there, he said no. The car owner wants to run the Lincoln race so he's off the list.

There is no name sponsor attached to the this race.  Where do you suppose the purse money is coming from?  That is a huge chunk of change to risk without the deep pockets to cover for losses if weather or something else happens.  Also wondered why they would schedule this in unpredictable April if other later dates could have worked.

So far I'm seeing guys like Brian Brown, Madsen, Tim Schaffer, Haudenshild, DeWease, and Zearfoss. That looks good enough for me to attend.

No idea about the money, but some thoughts on the schedule timing are........

No other big ticket races to compete for the fan gate at that time. Also a time slot that he can build on in the future because of that. The WoO are out of the picture! They schedule other parts of the country for that time. The race equipment is fresher which makes it better for all teams to have their best shots, which may help with the car count. The lesser financed teams might struggle to get there as the season progresses.  The teams better off financially usually have that advantage as the season goes along. And points races during the season may have been considered as a threat to car counts. You are right about the weather factor, but let's just hope the timing holds up in that regard. I think the sport needs to be shown that a big race can be a success without the major players involved. One less finger in the pie so to speak!

Didn't know Dewease said they were going out.    I was already excited to make the 7 hour drive out for this race, but seeing some big names already interested in this race is pretty sweet.   Can't come soon enough!
