I have no dog in this fight, never been to Badlands/Husets, never been to Jackson and only been to Knoxville for the Nationals the last 12years but the only way for a 3 track series of these 3 tracks is for Knoxville to change nights to either Friday or Sunday (which I do not see) because they are the one that is the futher distance of the other 2 tracks.  It would be too costly and put alot of strain on teams running back in forth for 3 nights of racing (see mileages and times below).  None of the drivers you mentioned raced Jackson on a regular basis before Tod Quiring (who I think has done wonders for the sport) purchased that track and runs NSL races there most Fridays. Nobody complained that he does this against River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, ND which is 365 miles ( 6 hours) away.

While Chuck may be an a$$ for some of the things he has said and done, he also has done some good by giving the drivers/teams a chance to make some more money which I am sure they need. He has also gotten some of the other tracks/series to raise their purses also which again is good for the drivers/teams and sport and which will make it easier for new teams to start up. Like I said Chuck is an a$$ for some of his doings but so are the drivers (not counting the WoO) that did not attend this race this weekend.  They complain about there not being enough high dollar shows and then when there is one and they have an off weekend at Knoxville they do not attend. Is them not attending really doing good for their sponsors, I think not.    So you can see there are more a$$es in the area besides Chuck.

So just enjoy the racing you have, because tracks have to make money to survive and Sunday nights do not work anymore because beer sales are a big part of the profit and fans do not drink much on Sunday's when they have to go to work on Monday. Also alot of driver's/teams do not race on Sunday's because of having to be at work on Monday.

So by looking below, if a 3 track series could happen, which way would be most beneficial to drivers and teams?

Jackson, MN to Knoxville, IA = 238 miles (4hours 15mins) + Knoxville, IA to Sioux Falls, SD = 316 miles (5hours) for a total of 554 miles (9hours 15mins)

or

Jackson, Mn to Sioux Falls, SD = 99 miles (1hour 40mins) + Sioux Falls, SD to Knoxville IA = 316 miles (5hours)  for a total of 415 miles (6hours 40mins)

for a savings of 139 miles (2hours 35mins) . Now say that this is for 15 weekends = 2085 miles (38hours 45mins). Most teams in the area could not afford that extra expense in time or dollars.

The problem with you mileage calculation is this..... not all the drivers involved live in those three communities, in fact the majority of them don't. Regardless, we know it's not going to change from the present state. Jackson had the most run down weekly show of the three tracks, and in fact wasn't even running 410's. And has the smallest population. Tod has brought that track back from the graveyard. And he knew that to do that, he needed to cooperate with Knoxville and Husets, which last year he did do. This year he had no choice but to keep his word to Knoxville. I'm sure that won't change, either. I predict that the state of 410 racing in the midwest will remain stagnant as far as weekly shows go.

I realize that and did not calculate or show the drivers/teams mileage getting to the first race and going home after the last race. I was showing the mileage of in between race nights (thats why I only showed 2 mileages).  It makes no sense at all to start at Jackson on Friday night, then drive  to Knoxville on Saturday night then back to Husets/Badlands for Sunday night, esp. for teams from around Knoxville or south of Knoxville. That is what I was showing on my mileage comparisons. If Husets/Badlands stayed on Sunday, what teams do you think they would have gained?  Chuck has/had everything to gain (if his attitude does not wreck it) by racing on Saturday's by getting some cars from Grand Forks, some from Jackson, more fans normally on Saturdays (fans aren't going to travel from Knoxville to Badlands, or Badlands to Knoxville on a regular basis) and again more beer sales (sorry it is apart of racing) from fans on a Saturday night.

And if Chuck was real smart he would/should try to get with Tod and the NSL and schedule some NSL races on Sunday nights and have a double header at his track. His regular field of cars on Saturday night and then the NSL and his regulars on Sunday night.

That is 100% right on the money.

Sunday night was not the problem.   The problem was the guys that never spent any money upgrading the facilities at all, hadn't increased the payouts in 20 yrs and randomly pissed off drivers that just plain wouldn't race there again.

With all of the money Chuck is throwing around he would get cars on Sunday night and there would be more quality cars instead of field fillers.   If you get a field full of quality cars and run a fast moving show that gets done by 10:00-10:30 on a regular basis the crowd will come on Sunday night.

The funny thing about everyone that says Sunday night doesn't draw a crowd is that Chuck has races every Sunday night and the "Bigger than anything Knoxville has ever done" RnR Gold Cup finale is tonight, I think today is Sunday but maybe my Calendar is wrong.

If you look at the payouts and the ticket prices Chuck needs to sell almost the exact same number of tickets on half price Sunday as he does on full price Saturday in order to pay the purse.    So why is he racing on Sunday if you can't draw a crowd?

On a final note, the "no re-entry" policy is stupid.    I honestly have a hard time thinking of any other entertainment venue that I've ever been to that didn't allow exit and re-entry with a hand stamp and ticket stub.

A couple of things, stop calling it "wastelands" and stop using all caps. Not bashing, just suggestions to make your hoseheads experience better.

I can tell you where he got the no re-entry policy and that's from concerts. Every one I've ever been to is like that. I think it's because they want you to be buying food, beer and other concessions from the venue instead of having a cooler out in the car and going out between bands to have some drinks and eat a sandwich. He's probably thinking along those same lines.

I sat in the stands at Mazy and for years listening to more than a few bad mouthing Keith Hall about everything under the sun; pun intended. I'd alway's just say that I don't give a shit what he does as long as he keeps putting water on the track. Keith's now in the Hall of Fame and Manzy's gone. Any hard core Sprint Car fan gets it and will show up at Badlands because it has what we want regardless of who's at the helm; nice facilities, a good pay out and water on the track. Are there any real Sprint car fans on here anymore, or just a bunch of whining bitches? I know, I know who the real deals are on here, so just sit back and I'll see you at the track........(BC)

The tracks used to work together  back in the day!!

They worked on not raising the purse and raising the cost of pit passes and admit prices..

As far as the "pathetic " car count.. I can only guess most drivers, crew, and owners, had to choose between taking vacation for knoxville nationals or badlands.. To me it is a no Brainer

This show is new and the people waited to see what will happen..  If Badlands can back this up. And can get the support from owners and fans.. The sky is the limit.. other tracks will have to break out of the norm, they have grown so comfortable with..Some on here may already know who I am.. and yes I am from Sioux Falls.. I already expect the hate mail and bashing.. won't hurt my feelings.. But this sport needed a punch in the face.. to slap it out of the Ruth it has been in.. I guess ..

Another person did such a thing.. some thought he was crazy back then and is now in the hall of fame.

AND has a race in his honor.. He also looked out for the racer and the fans. To make the race something that means something.. with.. or in this case.. without sanctions.. this race was gonna happen with or without out you..

Thanks Ralph Cappatani ( I hope I spelled that right)

Sometimes in this sport, your gonna get a few bumps and bruises.

As to the owners, and drivers, and crew , and the fans.that made the trip to Sioux Falls,  you contribute to the growth of our sport. More than you realise...
