I own a car that races a support class at badlands. We get double to triple pay we could get anywhere else. Badlands has the best point fund i have ever seen. And free pit passes for driver and crew twice. I and 99% of the weekly racers have no complaints. The people complaining are a bunch of keyboard jockeys with nothing better to do than complain. Also got free concert tickets. I would rather see gold cup without woo and the money going to non woo drivers. Ford 97 would complain if he had free VIP free beer and free strippers.

I don't think anyone is complaining about the money he's spending on the racers. That's a GREAT thing. I've said from the beginning that you can't take that away from him. The problem is all the fighting he's created with his presence. We all know what the conflicts are so no need to go down the list once more but as I said, there's one common denominator in all of this and it's Chuck. Can't deny that. 100% fact. From the very beginning before anyone ever turned a lap, he put Knoxville in his crosshairs and then we have seen what has taken place afterwards. It's really sad because someone with his money could so much good for our sport but with the way it's going now, his money isn't going to mean a damn thing in the end because he's going to be out on an island all alone because of the damage he's done. I still hold out hope that he'll see what he's doing wrong and change it before its too late but it's looking less and less likely that it will happen and more.and more likely that his "I'm Chuck Brennan and you're not" ego will continue to create issues.

Badlands drivers did quite well this week at Knoxville. TK, Zomer and McCarl all solidly in the A main. Would have been 4 had Henderson not broke.
|
And as they should have, after all they were just returning home so to speak. First home, second home it doesn't matter. All four of them have been Knoxville regulars until recently. Neither Badlands fans or Knoxville fans can claim them as exclusively their drivers.

I think all of us here in the midwest would be better off if as fans we wouldn't start the whole kville/badlands driver arguments. As I've stated before, the drivers will go where they want to run. I think fans in both areas have been happy with the racing at both tracks. We will see next year where everyone is racing after the first year of badlands being opened. I'm not for sure what can work for all tracks in the area but I for one am glad that the 410s are racing on Saturday night.

You're right about that. We're very lucky to have such a strong scene here and 99% of the reason it's so strong is because all of the tracks work with each other. Even the ones who aren't weekly sprint tracks are very careful and respectful with their scheduling. Inevitably we do get the occasional conflict but it usually always ends up working out in the end. I hope it stays that way because all it would take for it all to go to shit is to have one character like Chuck Brennan enter the picture.
|
I was wondering about that at Port Royal Dream race. Announcer mentioned that he was disappointed that some drivers from "other tracks" didn't show up. Lincoln only had 358s.....

Sounds like this Chuck guy is a spoiled prick who has to get in a pissing match with everybody. Is he related to Trump?

I've been holding back on that comment myself for weeks, didn't want to start a political thing
Yea you right!

You are correct. 95% of the forum do not race...including me. They can't say what they want on Facebook so they bash on here under goofball names.

Agreed. If he spent all that $$ & cooperated with other tracks, it would be terrific.... synergy

Just remember this is the same jackass that was going to kill Sturgis also but went broke and owed a lot of people money. All he is doing baiting teams and drivers and they will pay a price for it. HE WILL SCREW THEM OUT OF THEIR MONEY AND BE GONE. Racers have always just looked at what's good for them now and never look at the future. What he is doing is good for them now but it will screw them in the end. MARK THESE WORDS!!!!

Lincoln ran that night but 358's only. What he was referring to was most of the Lincoln cars who elected to not to run despite Lincoln not running 410's. That said, that comment was disgusting and pissed a lot of people off including myself. I love Port Royal but their announcer needs to go. It's none of Shawn's business nor is it anyone elses where or when any team elects to race and its absolutely classless and unprofessional to call them out publicly like he did. Maybe he should pony up the cash to own his own team and he can see what it's all about.

Do you have a fucking glue dumb ass, really do you, let's hear it because I haven't seen one driver or race team have one problem with BMS this year, and at the end of the day, as a fan that's all I care about, not a bunch of little girls that dont have a clue what they are talking about.

That's funny....
Have you digressed from drinking that koolaid to snorting it? Because if you think 25 sprints cars on a prelim night of a $50k to win show is "great" you're an even bigger idiot than we all already think you are.
305's are the herpes of sprint cars

Don't forget the 11 Midwest late models. Woot. Woot. I've been going to LM races at many upper Midwest tracks and I don't recognize one of the names in the lineup lol. This event needs to be renamed....."$250,000 Rock n Local gong show cup" I'm all for drivers/teams getting a big cheque, don't have issues with the money this idiot is paying these guys. But like many fans I'm not receptive to the loan sharks complete disregard and disrespect to the tracks and sanctioning groups in the area.
Knoxville Natioanls attendee since '95
Favorite Tracks...River Cities, Knoxville, Cedar Lake
Favorite Drivers...S.Kinser, T.Kaeding, K.Madsen, S.Smith

Judging by those terrible car counts, you're not the only one who's receptive to it. Looks like more and more people are seeing this dude for what he is. Unfortunately, I feel like Huset's will soon be nothing more than a concert venue. It's a shame. The worst part about it is, with his money and a little bit of cooperation, he could've been a big asset to sprint car racing. He's learning the hard way now that in sprint car racing, things work a little differently and you won't get anywhere just barging in, acting like a dick and trying to impose your will on everyone. Even if you are a millionaire.

I thought he said something to the effect that this would be an event like the sprint car world had never seen before when Chuck first announced it? Don't sound like it has come off that way.

In some regards, that may be true. Could very well be the worst field in the history of sprint car racing at a race with a purse that big.
