One of the greatest weaknesses of social media is there is no sarcasm detector.

Yep, that happens all the time...
I use one of these to indicate sarcasm:

The last 2 years the King's crown has reduced in size, immensely. I must have missed the reason why. Does anyone know the reason?............The old crown was much better!

The old Royal format was the dumbest in racing. Qualify 36th, win your heat and start on the pole! Idiotic. The wheel of misfortune which I believe will determine the invert after time trials makes it way better, should eliminate a lot of the sandbagging.

"The old Royal format was the dumbest in racing."---Hands down, 100%! The change this year didn't necessarily pay off with great racing in the heats, but at least it wasn't the ridiculous qualify 36th for a pole!
Also, for those claiming drivers have to "earn their way into the A at the Royal"----bull$@#%!!!! There were a bunch of drivers who inverted to a front row heat win and ran away in clean air. Not exactly "earning" a spot. As far as I'm concerned, Knoxville Raceway has the qualifying/heats/points/lineup NAILED!!!! Their weekly show is spot on, and for the Nats, a slight tweak for when the big guns come to town! It gets no better in my opinion.
All of that said, give me a choice between the King's Royal format, and the WoO normal format, and I pick the WoO normal format ALL DAY LONG! No gimmicks!

Agreed. Not to mention from what I saw in the stands, if you didn't get it in the first corner you weren't going to get it. Really they could shorten the heats to 2 laps and nothing would have changed outside of the caution in the 1st heat and some battles for 4th and 5th.
Almost all of the heats had situations where it had nothing to do with the faster qualifiers not being "fast nought " or not being able to "earn" their way in. Most of the time when they went into turn 1 they had to either get on the binders or turn to avoid a car cutting across the nose or avoid a bonzi move. By the time they were off of 2 they had no momentum and the front couple cars has the clean air and nothing to break their momentum. Yeah Schatz gave everyone a show coming from deep in the field but to me it would have been a better race had he started further up with a spot he did earn already. He unfortunately used his stuff up getting there. But hey its not about competition anymore it's about entertainment or the illusion of entertainment
