I don't care about someone saying "shit" in an interview. That's barely a swear word, even presidential candidates say that in public interviews.

What bothers me is a big sprint race being won via double file restart when the leader started 12th and worked his ass off to get to the front under green flag racing. I don't like the fact the 2nd place guy can win the race via double file restart without actaully having to legitimately pass the leader in green flag racing conditions. Double file restarts are just a cheap gimmick to give the casual fans the illusion of better racing. I wish the WOO would do away with them. Of course we know that won't happen because the WOO caters to the nascar crowd.

Regardless of that particular restart being double or single file, the outcome is the same. The outcome of the race was not decided via double file restart. If they went single file there Logan’s motor still stumbles and Sweet gets a great run and more than likely has him passed going into 1 if not has the lead off 2 ...

I can't blame him for being happy and showing emotions for such a huge win. Nothing he said bothered me. I just didn't get it when he was waving at the crowd with both hands like he did! Wtf? lol

The waving the hands is Lane Frost signature, if you didn't know Lane Frost, he was a well known bull rider and after a good ride, he would wave to the crowd like that.

You don't think it makes him look professional?  What is your handle in this forum, now that's professional, what a hypocrite.  I don't want sprint cars to get the exposure NASCAR does, we are a niche sport and with the PPV's available these days we are just fine.  NASCAR has ruined themselves and they did it from the inside, their days are done.  I think the last race that I glanced at had 38 cars in it, they used to start 43 and some didn't make the show, it's falling faster than a new Brides panties on wedding night, oops can I say that?

A few things on your first point.  You look at my "handle" and see it as unprofessional?  That tells me that you understand that there are words that are offensive to some people.  The second thing is, who am I?  As far as sprint car racing goes (just like the majority of the rest of you), I'm nobody, I don't matter, I'm not a driver, sponsor or owner.  I'm just a fan and that's fine with me.  The closest I am to mattering is I work for a company that sponsors a racetrack.  Brad Sweet is somebody important to the sport.  Do you think my "handle" is going to keep sponsors away?  Do you think it's possible that Brad Sweet's language could?  The third thing is, you're calling me a hypocrite?  Since you consider these just words that don't mean anything, I sure hope you use these words in a job interview, church service, wedding, funeral, kid's programs at school.  And because they're just words I certainly hope you're teaching your kids or grandkids how to use these words and encouraging them to use them.  If you're not doing this, who's the real hypocrite?

I will say it again.  THE CUSS WORDS DID NOT OFFEND ME, in fact you're going to have to work pretty hard to offend me.  And I have no problem using those words.  However, I'm not so ignorant to think that people should only think like me.  I KNOW that these words do offend some people.  Just because someone thinks different than me doesn't mean they're a "snowflake" or a "pussy", it just means they think different and that's ok.  That's a big thing wrong with the world today, if someone thinks different than someone else the other person is wrong, there's no listening to eachother, or figuring out why that person thinks that way, it just leads to personal attacks.  I think if more people thought about other people and the way they feel, instead of how their own rights are being violated this world could be a much nicer place.  Certain things offend certain people and not others.  For instance you seem offended with my "handle", many others are not.  Maybe making fun of a physical feature of yours or a family member would be offensive to you but I might think there's nothing wrong with it.  Same thing, they're just words but IF they offend you, it's not so funny.  There's a time and place for everything.

Just to be clear, I have no issues with you.  I just want you to understand where I'm coming from.

I am glad someone brought up the public prayer before every race. (Thanks Stan)I prefer when tracks do a moment of silence in memory of (different wordings can go here).  Specific drivers or even just those who have given their life to the sport we all love. I was at the Greg Hodnett Memorial a few weeks back and they did this. It was very refreshing and emotional.

Those who like the public prayer may not like the cuss words..

Those with families might not like the cuss words (why a lot of tracks have a family section)

Those who like the cuss words and alcohol, may not care for the public prayer.

So often you can look around now days and see people ignore the prayer, but turn around, take their hat off and stand up straight when the National Anthem is played. We are a country with many viewpoints and we should all embrace those that are different than ours and not just tolerate it.

All you snowlflakes need to get the heck out of here. Passionate guys like Brad are who is going to carry our sport into the future. God forbid we have passionate people who get pumped after winning the biggest races of the year. You want professional, choose another sport. You have no opinion to voice on how others “should” act after a big win. Move on with your dull lives and let us enjoy ours

What's "heck"? Is that where people go who don't believe in "Gosh"? wink

Not a Sweet fan nor a hater and don't really care about the language. I am just not a fan of the over dramatic until your out of breath celebrations. And the two handed limp wristed waves, what the hell is that?

I went back and watched some old Knoxville Nationals victory lane footage and it was refreshing to watch.

Awesome response/post.

EXACTLY what's wrong with this country today and it starts at the TOP & trickles all the way down.

Sad but true.

I completely agree with your points on this. Yes different things offend different people and it is ok. I don't mind the fact that some people didn't like the choice of words used. If this conversation started along the lines of, someone not sure the choice of words used by Brad Sweet were the best choice or the best perception that should be portrayed, then this conversation ends probably within 24 hours.

However, the original poster started to speculate, ridicule, and judge the individual himself. When someone goes as far as saying a win will forever be tainted because of his "ghetto" mouth, or that a person lacks maturity, and they hope phones are ringing off the hook and action is taken, then that person is offering their opinion on that person. In that case, if someone offers their opinion, they better be ready to defend it against people who do not agree with it. Basically, the original poster is passing judgement on another person which is fine, we are all judged everyday. But apparently it looks like it's a problem when they themselves are judged which is another problem we have. Certain people feel they are allowed to judge and offer opinions but when it's countered then it's an issue.

Yes Brad Sweet is important to the sport & yes words matter. But he was not in a school, church, board room, or speaking to a wide range of different people such as a politician. He was talking to race fans, saying words he had before, while being sponsored by the same sponsors. He is also not the only or last one that will use them. I think sometimes people over analyze things. I am pretty sure each driver knows how sponsors feel they should conduct themselves. And I also feel that the whole picture should be looked at when forming an opinion on someone versus 10secs of their life & those 10secs are just 2 tiny cuss words

Wow, what a crybaby. Like you never heard the word shit before. Some people find the dumbest things to be offended about. Plus he censored himself on the other "ghettoed mouthed" profane word. He said we won 175 mother fffff......nn grand! And then people cheered.

As far as maturity goes, he is my 3yr old sons favorite driver. Every time we go to the pits after an outlaws race Brad has always dropped everything that he is doing. Last year at 4crown we got to the pits too late and the 49 rig was leaving. Brad saw my 3yr old son crying in his Sweet shirt & got out of the mother fffff....nn rig to sign his new t shirt, give him a hug, and take a picture. Who does that shit???? Oops sorry I said shit. I would say he is very mature, great for the sport, great for NAPA, and a great role model. I can simply be a father and tell my son to not use certain words that are said by others

As for Schatz, I'm sure they are paying more attention now and is a little more worried about him than others. Quite a few big paydays that 49 has taken from him. I would say they are starting to get frustrated by him

that's awesome- I like Sweet more now! thanks for sharing.

Brad usually sucks at our tracks in Pa so I doubt we'll be seeing any victory lane interviews. But who knows it's been an incredible year for those guys. Maybe they get it done in 2019.

Brad Sweet's victory celebration was very disappointing. I am sure that WOO, World Racing Group, NAPA Auto Parts and KKR  are very upset with Sweet and his ghetto mouthed celebration. Sweet's greatest victory and largest payday was tainted and will forever be a thorn in his career at this level of sprint car racing. He obviously isn't mature enough to grasp the totalaty of his accomplishment. He stated earlier this week that Schatz has competition now ! Really Brad, how many total victories and WOO Championshipos do you have under your belt ? I am sure that Schatz doesn't feel threatened by you or your mouth ! Schatz is a class act, like most of the guys out there. In closing, I sincerely hope that the phones will be ringing at WOO, World Racing Group, NAPA Auto Parts and KKR concerning Sweet's verbage in his post victory interview. But then again, we'll see if the money rules over the whole deal.

Shit man relax and get off your high horse. You sound like a total and complete drag to be around.

Cheers!
