"generally";  no mailed notice ("may" not will); no separate mailing.... wasn't informed just like the original post (even though they got a seperate email that was ignored).  Stated how they "may" inform, but not how they "must" color me shocked.  OUTRAGED, I'm suing that ass because they probly put it on an information channel no one watches (kinda like deleting emails without reading them.)

Regardless of your interpretation of it, they have clearly defined what happens when changes are made.

It's laughable, out of more curiosity I went and checked DV's T&C's again and they still haven't gone through and properly fixed them. Literally from the first subsection: The DIRTVision FAST PASS is a monthly subscription to DIRTVision, granting access to all World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series events, with the exception of the Knoxville Nationals.

I doubt anyone would sue over this, but if someone did, I think DIRTVision would have a tremendously difficult time arguing it in court. I'd wager a ton of money on DV losing if someone were to take this route. Hopefully no one does, but DV shouldn't be putting themselves in this position by any means.

Agree, my reaction to the Cox scenario (seems to happen every 6 months or so with them) and with Verizon, Sprint, Xfinity etc.. was more to show an equal over reaction to a common occurance.  Crappy way of doing business in my opinion, but just trying to over react equally to what seems to be all too common.

Cable companies are the worst! So glad to get out of my Comcast deal after leaving an apt. where it was our only choice.
Now that my first year discount with DirecTV is over, they're charging me a small fortune too. But I don't hate them, yet....

Oh, the off-season is so much fun, so many deep discussions about sprintcar racing.

I chuckled when I figured out that a thread I thought had been started by Big Right Rear was actually started by Big Right Ear.

Its all Sammy's fault! (or is it the Port Royal track prep crew?) wink

Big difference between "Stick it in your EAR" & the other option.... wink

I think Nick's post was perfect.  First off, I will admit that I'm not a subscriber and if what you are saying is true it does sound a little shady.  And if they're not refunding people for the honest mistake (which most companys will) that seems shady to me.  But if they did email everyone the terms and conditions update, you've only got one person to be upset at.  I'd be pissed too if this happened to me and mostly because I missed it.  But seriously this post along with another one that must have been deleted has been going on for a month.  If $40 means that much to you maybe you shouldn't be subscribing?  Again I'd be pissed about losing $40 too but I'm certainly not going to be pissed about it a month later and I'm certainly not going to start a smear post on a message board about it over $40.  So in the end, what are you trying to accomplish?  Are you hoping to put Dirtvision out of business?

Did I ever insinuate that I wanted them out of business?   The principle of what happened is the issue....it doesn't matter if it's $40 or $4,000.  It's not the amount, although for some, maybe it is alot.  I have supported WRG and DirtVision since the beginning, and will most likely continue to do so.  The terms of the subscription were changed and this was done automatically without an opt in or opt out provided, just an email notification that could easily have been overlooked as just another ad.  That is, I am quite aware, common practice in the business world....make the most money you can off the people who use your product and hope they are too dumb or too lazy to stop you.  I am not saying that that was their intention, but it could be interpreted that way.

WRG and Dirtvision have always talked about their closeness and care for their fans, and this is a niche marketplace which doesn't have a ton of fans to spare and needs them to spread the word about the greatness of dirt racing...(I know it's a business) but what happened makes them seem like any other company. This is not illegal or even uncommon, just disappointing.   I am not going to keep arguing about it, and I actually truly appreciate Nick14's well thought out and logical responses.  I am not all that upset about it at this point.  My annoyance has come more from not having the initial frustration understood and having it misrepresented in responses to it.  I hope DirtVision and WRG learn from fans frustration in this, as I  appreciate the product they provide.
