Watching Steve at the end was tough. Not because he didn’t have the talent anymore, but he was out of shape. That isn’t Sammy. Age is a factor, sure, but Sammy seems to be in great shape and he clearly takes care of himself. He’s not the Sammy he was even 5 years ago, but he’s still a damn good driver. He’s shown plenty of speed in the 410 this year. I expect him to be in the A Saturday night, maybe even the back half of the top 10 when the night is over.
Remember, he doesn’t have to be the wrench on this car. Kevin knows what he’s doing. It’ll be fun to watch.

If I remember correctly, it was Kevin turning wrenches on the Big Game car when Sammy made that incredible run against Schatz at the 50th Knoxville Nationals.
On another note, just saw that Sammy is now officially entered in the 360 Nationals in a car numbered 11x. Anyone know who's car that is?

Relaxe. I would have said the same thing even if Kevin wasn't in a wheelchair. I'm not being insensitive to Kevin's situation just poking fun at the idea of being able to fire his father since he is the car owner. If still confused refer to Nelligan's post because if I was out of line I can assure you he would have called me on it :-).

I don't know how anyone could be a fan of an arrogant prick. He's always been a dickhead who does not give a sheep's queef about wrecking anyone at any time. I know it didn't happen to Sammy himself, but look what happened to his kid. Karma is real.

Folks, just enjoy the fact that the man still has the desire at 63 to be still out there driving one of these missiles. If you are a fan, you've seen some vicious flips in these cars and most of us have never experienced one. I'm sure he has experienced at least one or two of these and at age 63 he is willing to challenge for the best possible finish or wad one of these cars up in a ball. I certainly wish him the best. He has always been one of, if not my favorite driver and this goes back to the Old Mil car. We will find out if there is still a little magic left and if not, hat's off to him for still having the desire to be out there.
You know, I never hear the same rhetoric about Jac Haudenschild being still out there. If I am not mistaken, he is about the same age as Sammy. I have not heard anyone question whether Jac should be out there competing. I feel people have an ax to grind with Sammy. Yeah, I know, two totally different personalities. Sammy has a more serious, dry personality, while Jac is always smiling and happy-go- lucky. Well, folks that's what makes us all different. I spoke to each driver Tuesday evening at the Doty Classic before the sky opened up and Sammy was really great to speak with. During our conversation, we talked about music and he was more than wiling to talk. He was more than willing to take a photo with me and my buddy. I caught Jac when he was chatting with someone else and we didn't speak for long. What was the difference? Probably the circumstance, Jac was with someone and Sammy was not. Jac was getting ready to strap in to the car and Sammy was just hanging out with the team and probably advising the team any way he could. Yeah, their personalities might be different, but one was going to work and one was chillin' out. Ever wonder how you would react if someone came to your place of work and approached you right in the middle of something important? And these guys have work places in what I consider one of the highest risk jobs and we expect them to be like our best friend.

Many others an myself have seen him do some really stupid shit. USAC once 86ed him from the pits at any USAC race when Kevin was running USAC with KKR. Ask Daron Clayton how Sammy the PSYHCO took a cheap shot at him. He has done it many times. Sorry but Sammy is a douche bag that acts like a littel bitch when he doesn't get what he wants. Sure he was good,had talent and even a good person sometimes but deep down he is just a Tennesee hillbillie dipshit who can't control his emotions. I think he comes across as a nice guy to only those that suck his dick.

If some of you don't understand how much conversations like this hurt Sprint car racing you are just out of touch with reality. A lot of professional and classy companies no longer are supporting or sponsoring anything to do with racing.
You so called Sprint car fans that have nothing but derogatory and negative things to say are helping to destroy the sport. Look around.....Energy drinks are the only new money and soon they'll be just as gone.
I bet your mother's would be so proud of some of you if they read what you wrote and how you present yourselves. I get embarrassed even being involved in a sport that some of you claim to be fans of.
