That's insane. Been a spring race there for ALOT of years. Heres an idea.....Inaugural fall classic at I-55 Saturday October 17

Farmington should buck up and take that day. I know it might be cold that late but as long as its not raining it won't matter. People will pack an outlaw race no matter what, especially the first time at a weekly 410 sprint car track.

No Dodge City. Plus seen rumors that Oklahoma was supposed to get shows before the Texas weekend, but looks like that was false.

86 events by my count. I'm sure they would accept more applications to host if it fits the schedule. Seems like a couple races kind of out of the way, 1 trip into Texas from Il I thought I saw and one to NC and back to where they were before NC. I know your highways are great tho.

I'm talking about before the 3/13 & 3/14 weekend.

One interesting thing that I noticed was that the June dates at Knoxville are at the same time as the Nascar Truck & Xfinity race Fri and Sat at Iowa speedway in Newton. Now while it might be a different set of fans & there are a portion of fans on here that consider Nascar crap, the reason it seems interesting is it conflicts with the message the new President had stated last year.

Steve Phelps said he wanted to help & work together with short tracks (asphalt & dirt) to help grow racing, help image, etc. Granted, I do not know one way or the other if this will help or hurt one brand or not. If anything I think it hurts Nascar as people in the area who might consider going to a race might go to Knoxville. I know Nascar has become obsessed with night races the past decade, but I think it would have been a better opportunity to work together and help racing in general. Newton in 30mins or less from Knoxville, I would have made the 10hr trip & made a weekend out of it if they had the Nascar races during the day.

I think the one point that a lot of people are missing is that a WOO sprint car show is not a guaranteed money maker.  Everybody keeps asking where is race x or race y.   The reason that those races are not on the schedule was because the promoter was not making consistent profits off of those dates.    Or worse yet was losing money consitently on those dates.   I remember reading where SLS promotions like to move some of thier inventory around to make sure that when the Outlaws come to town, it is a must see event.   If you want to continue to watch the Outlaws at a track near you, be sure to go watch them at a track near you.

Just a guess here but I suspect there are more tracks asking to host races than the WoO can provide. I would also think they move around to touch different markets in different years instead of just following the same route to hit the same tracks. It makes sense to me to try to hit a few new markets and rotate they tracks through the years. But I'm not a wealthy business man so maybe they think better than I do.

80-90% of the schedule rolls over from year to year so it’s clearly a profitable venture most of the time.
