Bingo, bingo, bingo and bingo.

Even if you hate the W.O.O. (and many do) they are still the recognizable face of sprint car racing for a vast number of fans and for the casual fan.  Huge PR mistake making enemies with them, the NSL and Knoxville.  Not because Knoxville has a direct impact on the Badlands but starting a war with them and thousands of regular followers is also terrible PR.

Its like a small town with two bars.  If both bar owners hate each other, business is usually not good for either.  But when both bars work together--entertainment, specials, sponsorship of town activities, frequenting of each others establishments and supporting their activities--both bars tend to thrive.  I've seen it in action both ways.

Now for the guy in the mullet and boom box at the beach---i thought for a second you were spying on me last week at Gulf Shores!!!!!  Smile      (Shut up Maddog--you know I have no hair anymore)

I may have been one of those................sorry!  I would say we have enough evidence to return a guilty verdict.

So are we all just automatically putting the blame on Chuck And not an ounce on the outlaw powers that be?

and to Jim.   If they did schedule a race at Jackson you and your homies would be doing the exact thing that you have been preaching against all season.  Would that be good for sprint car racing?

Gold Cup ticket prices will kill itself alone. After knoxville $$$ gets tight. Badlands still doesn't need outlaws to thrive. Badlands do need the best 410s in the area (TMAC).

Still love husets

The story is correct. I got an email at 5:35 pm today stating that the Outlaws and Badlands could not reach an agreement on a contract. Which leads me to believe that Badlands has been advertizing that this was an Outlaw show and it actually wasn't. Which in my books would be false advertizing. I wonder how many people have bought tickets thinking it was a WOO show and it never was. I wonder if Badlands will refund their money if requested.   Glen Murra

Anyone that wants a refund can get a full refund.

T-Mac might get to race after all.

T-Mac is still suspended. That will not change.

How interesting would it be for Jackson Motorplex to book the Outlaws for a 2 day show now that the weekend has open dates?  Press release from WoO says information released soon on new venue(s).  Where's my popcorn??!!

The 10 to 12 full time WoO drivers will show up. The rest will go to Badlands. Follow the money.

Live 9 1/2 hours from badlands. Attended opening night, came home with an open mind and high expectations.  Made plans months ago, to attend Gold Cup.  Looking forward to watching McCarl race winged and non winged.  Only get to see WoO and USAC a few times.  Guess I will stay at home now! Thanks Chuckie you never get a second chance to make that first impression!  Dirt track promoters don't need to be dirt balls.

So you were going to travel 9 1/2 hours to watch one guy race? That's called a "mancrush".

Taking a while for your 'crew" to regroup and respond with comments.....then when a couple of you do, it's to throw insults. Is that the best you have?

Personally, I think it's too bad that Badlands and the WoO didn't come to an agreement. Doesn't do anybody any good.

So we are clear, not big on what Chuck has been doing, don't care for the guy as well as his approach to become the owner of the "premiere" race track in the midwest.  All signs lead to what everyone has been saying all along, he is hurting and not helping the sport in whole.  With that said, I do agree with green on this.  The WOO and Jackson should not run an event the weekend of the Gold thingy.  They should run an event that weekend, just not at Jackson, too close and it would only divide drivers/owners more.  JMO.

I don't live there and I haven't attended any races at Badlands, Knoxville or Jackson but I follow as closely as one can from Central PA and I do hope to one day go to Knoxville. That said, what I saw was, a year ago at this time, Tod Quiring put together a much needed regional series with a stacked lineup of drivers who would race most if not all the NSL events. That was a great thing that happened. Seemed in general, there were a lot of good vibes about how things were going out there. Was it perfect? No. Nothing is perfect but it seemed to be headed in a very positive direction. In walks a pay day loan scam artist with an ego the size of Russia and here we are a year later and literally, all hell has broken loose. Knoxville/Jackson/NSL are at war with Badlands. Badlands and the WoO have had a falling out. Then there's the thing with T-Mac getting suspended from Badlands. Like I said previously, you have all this shit going on that wasn't going on until ONE PERSON entered the picture. There is one common denominator in all of this and it's Chuck Brennan. Don't know him personally but it seems to me, he thought he'd just show up with his millions of dollars and rockstar friends and muscle his way anywhere he wanted to go within sprint car racing and there wouldn't be a damned thing anyone can do about it because he's Chuck Brennan and they're not. Doesn't seem to be working out that way. He's made enemies with a lot of powerful people within our sport and he'll no doubt pay for it. He GREATLY underestimated the people he's made enemies with. So yes, people are blaming Chuck Brennan because as I said, he's the common denominator. None of this shit was happening until he showed up. Sometimes you just gotta call it like it is.

I am going to be on the same page as FiXXXer on this one.

"....just automatically putting the blame on Chuck" would mean that I jumped to conclusions.  If you read my earlier posts, I made the statement that I too, thought that everyone was really in bitch mode earlier on in the year.  But like FiXXXer said--the common denominator to all of these issues is Badlands.  I have since switched my opinion on this track and its operation.

If I were to come across millions of dollars and was going to spend money to help the world of sprint car racing along, I certainly wouldn't mess with these 5 entities:   The WOO, Knoxville Raceway, The All-Stars, Central PA, or CA.  They are--all bashing aside--the ambassadors for the sport of sprint car racing.  Like the WOO or not, they are the Muhammad Ali, Yankees, and NE Patriots all wrapped in one.  You wanna see 'em win or you wanna see 'em get beat by the underdog.  But, the most important thing is (judging by attendance alone at all events I have attended) you wanna see them.  I, for one, don't have a strong opinion either way.  I just enjoy the best equipment rolling into a venue and putting on a show for me.

Don't kid yourself if you think the WOO won't make a difference at the end of the day on how this Gold Cup goes.  Very few are going to pay WOO ticket prices to watch a show the WOO is not at.

If you like Badlands, by all means, go to the shows and enjoy them.  For me?  All of these issues have soured it for me and I think I will support Knoxville and other area tracks.

I will also agree with you on the fact that the WOO or NSL should not schedule something close by last minute or they would be no better.  That being said, if they do, I would say that he has really pissed them off.

Great Post! I'd say you see things pretty clearly from that far away! Smile  I do know that Tod Quiring is looking towards next year and how to best utilize his beautiful new facility, improve the NSL series and continue to support sprint car racing. I can flat out tell you that Tod is not interested in a "war" of any kind, with any track , owner, promoter or other series, and has not considered himself or the NSL at "war" this year. I think it's safe to say that Knoxville Raceway has had and will continue to have the same outlook as Tod.

The blame goes all the way in this supposed mess you people keep belly aching about. Why does everyone have to kneal down in front of Knoxville, Quiring, WOO and whoever else decides they think they can rule the roost over everyone. None of these parties have shown one ounce of cooperation so this mess or the perception of it belongs on all their heads. I remember years ago the storm that ensued when Earl Bates at Eldora had the nerve to start The Big One race. Everyone freaked out that he was trying to run out the Nationals and Knoxville. They were just pissed someone had the nerve to pay out more than they did. The Nationals and Knoxville survived. Badlands is Brennan's track and I think this is still a free country so he can do what he wants with HIS track. The other parties and all of you really need to get over yourselves. As far as McCarl he got what deserved.

Yep--free country.  He is free to do what he wants at his track.  We are free not to attend.  And, most importantly, we are free to talk about it right here on this forum.  And  you are free to argue with us.

I don't recall anyone bringing up a rights violation?

Sorry to disappoint you. I'm just a one-man wrecking crew. No affiliation with any group. I'm in agreement with you..it's a shame the two can't pull this off. There's still time.
