The Posse vs the Outlaw thing is awesome. Its show business and promotion. It sells tickets and develops a rivalry. CA doesnt have the long standing history of competition  like PA. Imo when the WoO goes to CA there are a few cars which can compete but in the past PA had an army that could compete . Maybe CA will develop the competition in masses and someone can come up with some frontier name to oppose the Outlaws. You know your history more than I do, but when the Outlaw and Posse thing clicked in my head I thought it was magnificent marketing.

DeWease's Posse vs the world shirt is evidence of the money this rivalry makes for everyone.  Jmo!

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

i as a Lance Dewease fan was very disappionted in the out come of both thursdays main and saturdays Knoxville Natinals, but im a fan from way back and this weekend doesnt mean this team isnt capable of winning the Nationals.  If this team was a regular to run at Knoxville like they are at the grove, they would have won it at least twice. (my opinion) its all about the track time for Knoxville and this team needs it to succeed there.  if this team ran there the whole year and finished where they did with out issues, then id say they cant run off of the porch.  but when the outlaws come to Pa. Lance is the man to beat.  who from Ca. can beat the OutLaws or be the man to beat when the outsiders come into your state?  just a question and that driver cant be running with the Outlaws.

I think we are saying the same thing just expecting different results. Why is this team so good at Williams Grove and Central PA in general? Experience. Lance has more laps at The Grove than any active driver and Davey's experience is unnmatched. Why do I think they can't make noise at Knoxville? Experience. Davey has had success there years ago but it was with a driver that had experience at Knoxville. Lance hasn't had a lot of laps at Knoxville overall and hadn't been there for years prior to this year. To be clear, none of this is meant as a put down just looking at facts. You are talking about competing against the very best and doing it at a track that they have far more experience than the 69k. Experience is the game changer in the 69k's favor here but it absolutely works against them out there. To think overwise is completely contradictory and you can't have it both ways. That's saying what makes them so good here won't matter out there. What??!! While making the trip out there earlier this year was better than nothing, I don't think it's possible that you are going to make up all that lost time in the matter of a weekend. Also, to say that if they were a Knoxville regular team running weekly they could win it, while that may be possible, it's a moot point because it will never happen. I believe part of the problem is Donny has had so many dominating performances and last year it was Brad and now this year David it almost looks easy. It's certainly not but I think it's easy to get drawn into the thought process that we've seen that kind of dominance from the 69k here against those same teams so if they can beat them here, they can beat them there. That theory clearly overlooks the experience factor. I look at it as this team could have easily stayed home and took the weekend off but they didn't. They worked hard and put the effort forth to make the trip out there. They've each been there before and know how hard it is and I believe their goal was to make the A main. Mission accomplished and they should be proud. We are proud of them. As stated in a prior post, with a few tweaks here or there they don't make Saturday's A main. Instead of hearing they didn't run well in the A, the comments could easily be they didn't make the A. Be grateful.  At this point, I have to wonder how long this team stays in tact. Davey has mentioned this year will be it for him and at 85 who can blame him. Time will tell. Point is, as all teams do, one day it will come to an end. Savor it while we still have it. One day these will be the good ole days.

Exactly, there's more chest thumping from the CA fans than central PA fans in recent years... and for good reason. There's no doubt that CA has produced a lot of successful drivers in recent years. It's even more impressive when you consider there's not a whole lot of 410 racing in CA, compared to PA, OH and the midwest.

BTW I'm always happy to see Schuhart, Marks and Zearfoss doing well but I don't consider them posse anymore.

I am a long local California sprint car race fan and like to talk well about how well our CA guys do! For a long time California got very little respect about being a hot bed for sprint car racing and finally since Kyle Larson made it big we get some respect around here. We only have one 410 series in the King of the West NARC series, but we have more 360 racing that usually draws both 410 and 360 drivers, and a good variety of tracks up and down the state!  We have local tracks that run their own series and racing pretty much every Saturday from late February to November and very little rain outs due to pretty much no summer rain. We even have some weekday shows including some at the end of Augst that Kyle Larson will be racing in. Once our local guys start dominating here in CA they go onto win races all over the U.S., but the usually enjoy coming back to Calfornia to  race when they get the chance. One one hand it is sad that I don't get to see our locals racing as much, but very proud when they win races in different parts of the country!

Looking forward to the new Golden State King of the
West series schedule!

Winged sprintcars = the fastest and most exciting
racecars on dirt!

All the posse talk gets old quick here. Going down live to Knoxville you seldom hear much of it, which is really refreshing. Down there, you are really just a car, driver, and team. I find it sort of funny that nobody from California comes on here talking about the sucess of the CA drivers, who to me, seem to be the exciting drivers and the ones doing a lot of winning or "making the show".  The Scelzi boys, Rico, Sweet, Larson, Macedo, TK, and Eliason to name a few. (ya, Macedo just missed the show, I know). but.....

Dont get me wrong, there are some solid PA boys etc.  But right now it seems to me that CA > PA.  And the bonus is you dont have to hear them on here trying to market their drivers and some posse deal.

Maybe its cause California fans are all mellow & Posse fans are like "a bunch of New Yorkers dropped in a trailer park"? (as somebody said here a few years back) wink

I'm a Posse fan, originally from NYC & have lived in trailer parks in the past... still laughing about that wisecrack... wink
