Had the 5 big name drivers left in the WoO after the split would of went NST, this would not be an issue-WoO would not exist. The whole reason for the split was the way Dirt was treating the teams. Now they are back to the same issues before the split. That being said, taking shirt sales away is a joke. Add the no increase in purse and less tow money for 2008. Why let Dirt push you around, the car owners, and drivers need to ALL band together and take a stand. Without you, they have NOTHING.

First of all John I would never smack you around I am not like that! I am a business woman only trying to make things right. We wives, moms, sisters or friends who have been hired to do our sells seem to know more than anyone the plus to being out there on a 1 on 1 basis! We give away alot of free stuff to the kids such as tatoos, handouts and sometimes a diecast car depending on the situation we see at hand , you really think the Woo will be able to do that? In the grandstand area we have catored to the families who have to get home early with their kids and many times I tell all the moms and dads go ahead and take your kids to every trailer and make a collection of cards of all the drivers and you cannot believe how much the kids love it and the parents apprciate it. There have also been times while Jac was trying to hook up the trailer to get to the next race 500 miles away the next day has stopped to sign autographs. I have seen drivers sign autographs while waiting for a track to be prepared because it was to wet and stay at their trailers to appease the fans. DIRT should know how much it means to the fans for us to be out there so please get FIRED UP and send in your letters! We thank you very much!

I think what could slip by and what is being referred to here as far as NFL and NBA goes, is what is titled "Officially Licensed Product". Such as you would pay $60 for a shirt that has a tag that says that, and just outside the stadium there is a guy with a table set up, (he has to have a vendor permit or city business license - $5?) and he sells shirts that you could never tell the difference between the two. I think there may be two outs here. The first is pointed out a few posts ago, the drivers signed the contract, the "vendors" (and/or wives & girlfriends, mom's, etc.) are not legally bound by that and I believe they can get a permit from the promoter or track and sell. The other is also mentioned on here, make up some really really shoddy cheap shirts and give them to DIRT for their sales (therefore playing by the rules) but sell the good ones out of the hauler or at the motorhome. We can beat this! We just have to play the game, be smart and hopefully keep each and every team going!

patty you can jump in here any time to help me cause i am going to refer to the document dated nov 13, 2006 that i emaild to you last year concerning the way dirt would be handling merchandse sales in 2007. i can not get the thing to paste on here but cyndiv3, this year dirt made it madatory that all drivers would make multiple items from their most recent merchandise line availible to dirt at a "whole sale" price for dirt to buy and then sell out of a "world of outlaws driver merchandise trailer" that dirt would operate. in order to be a contracted driver you had to agree to that. drivers that did not sell merchandise either from out of their haulers or their own merchandise trailers would not have to submit items. meaning if you sold stuff you had to make it available to dirt. if you didn't plan on selling anything at all you didn't have to give dirt anything. i say that meaning to address your idea that the "vendors " do not have a contract with dirt. now dirt is proposing that no shirt trailers will be allowed except for a few times next season. it does not matter who runs them. also, how are the teams going to get a permit from the promotor when the promotor is running a dirt sanctioned event and dirt has control over the event? now if the teams wanted to park their shirt trailers around the block and sell stuff i don't think dirt could do anything about that, but is that really what we want? also giving dirt inferior stuff to sell kind of gets into this,

not taking or causing to be taken any action that could impugn or otherwise cast dispersion on WoO or the sport of motor racing,

i believe dirt would regard giving them crap to sell while the teams sell good stuff as trying to impugn or cast dispersion.

not meaning to rain on anyones parade, just trying to help folks understand. as long as it is dirts show they can make whatever rules they want. they can not stop the teams from selling stuff. but they can controll how it is sold at their shows. i doubt you can beat them in a fight. but you can fight to change their minds. making it clear they are not making a good choice is a good start. start by not even going to the dirt merchandise trailer at the next few races. just walk by it. let dirt know you want no part of their crap. i know it is not the most convienient thing, but if you are looking to buy stuff and the team you are wanting to buy stuff from is only selling from their hauler at the race you are at, take the time to go to the hauler. and teams, take the time to be there for the fans to buy your stuff. hey i know our guys and haud too are the first to want to get the heck out of there after a race. they are tired dirty, hungry, ect. but the drivers need to know that it is important to make the fans happy.

this whole thing is about the principle of things. about dirt wanting to capitlize even more off of the teams. just because the teams have found a way to make money dirt wants in on it. maybe dirt should give stuff to the teams to sell for THEM. hey patty if you could buy woo shirts for 10 bucks from dirt and sell them for 20 bucks and make 10 bucks would you do it? and if no fans were going to dirts tailer to buy stuff they would have a lot of stuff for the teams to sell for them!

gee my finger is getting knumb from typing!

Heck Patty, I'd give him a good smack and I don't even know him.Smile

And this last post by you points out exactly why some of us are trying to help the teams out. Can I go to the WoO trailer and visit with you Patty, or Dana Kinser, or Lori? Heck no!! To me a WoO show has always been nearly as important for the people as the racing. Actually, probably more important!!!

WRG/DIRT/WoO cannot and will not do what you all do. You may get a smile and a hello, but I doubt it will be very honest. And, I know darned well they won't take time to chat (if they have it) about how Jac's arm is healing (last year) or this and that.

Who here would volunteer their time to help WoO set up their souvenir trailer like my wife and I did for Patty last year at Eagle? I'd say the number would approach pretty close to zero, because you wouldn't be helping out a "friend".

Thanks for getting on here and talking about this to the ones who are actually involved in it day-to-day.

I have to agree, I bring my 3 yr old daughter to all the local races I go to in my area, I recently brought her to her first WOO race this year in Beaver Dam Wi.

I took her to go get some gear at the Kinser trailer and Mrs. Kinser talked to me and my daughter for 5-10 minutes. She talked me into actually going into the pits and getting Steve’s autograph, which I probably wouldn't have done had I not talked to her.

When I see her next year (I hope) I will thank her for the experience that I got with my daughter in the pits. We waited in the pits for maybe 10 minutes and there he was! He was very nice to us, and Ellie (my daughter) was shocked to see him in person (she watches him on TV with me), we got his autograph and pictures with him. I will never forget the look on her face.

My daughter went to daycare the next day and told everyone about meeting Steve Kinser, (most 3 yr olds didn't know who he was!) and she asks me every Saturday Night before we go to our local track in Plymouth if we can go see Steve Kinser, or if he will be there, or where’s the green car!!

That is the personal touch that will NEVER be replaced by some minimum wage teenager in a Dirt ran trailer. PERIOD

Again I want to thank all of you drivers/ wives / sisters / family that do this for us, without the family behind the drivers there would be no racing.

Go Tim Kaeding!!
Go Chad Blonde!!
Go Earl Possi!!
Go Randy Markwardt!!

Support your local tracks!!

Heck I would give twenty bucks to sit on the 50 yard line to watch Patty smack the Pooh out of John.

I have to place a side bet on Patty, I think she knows how to deal with the paparazzi!

Still a week and 1/2 to get those letters in the mail and be sure they get there before the year-end meetings.
