i agree with the ascs comment above. who wants to pay $50. to watch the WOO-ZERS anyway!? oh wait, i'm going to...$64 bucks for both nights of the Kings Royal this july. smoke knows how to get it done and not rape people for the supporting his venue.

two nights $64 buckaroos here folks.

Ascot was the greatest of all time..

West Capital wasn't half bad either..

Life is good...

No locals played with the World of Outlaws.

Here are the results:

Wait....there's complaining of no passing and the winner made passes for 2nd on lap 8 and took the lead on lap 18....all under non-stop green flag conditions. Sounds like it was a good race by WoO standards. Maybe not great, but good. Winged vs wingless is apples vs oranges.

Well yes they gotta keep dumping water on the track. ,,,,, because of the damn garage door that they carry with them ,,,,,, causes a down force of wind that will dry out the track in about 7.4 seconds. ,,,, plus 21 cars on the track surface at the same time. ,,,,, the track surface does not stand a chance to keep any moisture in it. ,,,, this is why it always turns out to be a one grove race. ,,,, you get to see fast cars,,,, a lot of turbulent wind,,,,, and a shit load of dust. ,,,,,,,WOW. ,,,,, wait fun. ,,,,,,,, This alone is why I do not go to the WOO races. ,,,,,,to much HYPE . ,,,,Not enough action. ,,,,, one lane ,,,,follow the car in front of you. ,,,,,,, just 30 laps of hallin ass . ,,,,,, THANKS FOR BRING YOUR MONEY,,,,, AND STOPIN BUY. ,,,,, Next track please $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. ,,,,,,,, ITS A TRAVELING SHOW. ,,,, WHAT DO YOU EXPECT. ,,,,, They are not going to take a chance of using up any parts at the PAS ,,,,,, when they still have 60 show left on there season. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,ZZ. ,,,,,,,,,,, AND STAY THIRSTY MY FRIENDS. When the WoO race at places like Perris or other tracks that don't have local support, perhaps an incentive should be considered. In my opinion, anything less that 30 cars is unacceptable. Maybe a $500 guarantee would be enough to lure addition cars??

I wasn't able to make the first two CRA races at Perris, the first one coincided with the March Meet in Bakersfield, and the second one fell on a day where I was racing myself, so I hadn't seen any open wheel racing since Turkey Night and was in desperate need to. Being a diehard non-wing guy I had never seen the WoO or any winged race in person, and figured hey, I want to see some racing, I've never seen Steve Kinser turn a wheel, this would be as good a time as any to finally break down and see them. Despite being at a race track, with sprint cars on it, I sure didn't see any racing. Between three heats, a dash, and a 30 lap main event, I believe there were 3-4 passes. Not passes for the lead in the main event, but passes for any position in any of the five races, for the entire night! If someone would've told me it was possible for so little action to take place in a dirt sprint car race I would never have believed them, but I saw it with my own eyes last night. Never ever ever again will you see me at a winged race. For those of you asking about the crowd, it was very good, much larger than the typical CRA race (again I wasn't at the first two races so I can't make a comparison there, but I'm talking about the avg CRA race over the last 3-5 yrs). I recognized very few faces, so maybe the WoO primarily draws the NASCAR crowd; the cars have room for signage and therefore sponsors, they're told repeatedly how great it is, so therefore, it must be great, and that's what they go to.

The track was far from dry slick. They wouldn't run past the middle so Donny K even had the push trucks go out and pack in the top and nobody still ran the fence. Hard to pass when everyone is haulin ass around the joint.

I'm a die hard non wing fan but I do a few winged shows each year you can't go wrong with the Trophy Cup in Tulare in Oct.

I was perplexed when the news broke that WoO =was= coming to Perris. I knew it would be a track rental. (How many people can spring for $85K to buy the show and then spend an arm and a leg to promote it?) (The Rolling Stones are promoting their own shows this summer, but playing about dozen dates in field houses, pretty much only on the two coasts where they know the $85 & up tix =will= sell. Regardless, all five members of the band =will= show up.) But KWS is NorCal. Cory Eliason, Geoffrey Strole and D. J. Netto are the only drivers from as far south as Hanford or Visalia. Craig Stidham and Domenic Scelzi are from Fresno. But that's it. No one in KWS tows less than 250 miles to get to Perris. And that includes anyone in AZ with a 410 and a wing. Figure it out. 2000 people at $50 a crack is $100K, but I doubt that all 2000 =paid= to get in. Zo... Should we expect to see WoO at Perris next year?

I don' want to boycott the WOO.,,,,,, I don't want wing racing to go away. ,,, a lot of people love the winged sprints.... why try to take that away from them . ,,,,, I do not care for wing racing. ,,, and I just don't go,,,, I prefer 410 non wing racing. ,,,, now if someone was boycotting the 410 non wing. ,,trying to stop the 410s . ,,, and saying bring on the 360s. ,,, the hell with with that. there wood be a big resistance to that . ,,,,, so everyone support your chose . ,,, and be happy. ,,,, I bitch about the WOOL at the PAS.,,,, because this took away a night of wait may could have been a 410 USAC/CRA sprint car race. ,,,,, now that I would have been at. ,,,,, so I stayed home and did yard work. ,,,, and sunday we went for a nice drive up in the mountains and had a grate lunch. ,,,,, my lady is happy. ,,,so It all worked out. ,,,,, there will be another race day. !!!!!!!!!! ,,,,,,,ZZ. AND OF COURSE ,,,, STAY THIRSTY MY FRIENDS. ,,,FBW

As much as I enjoy Perris, I just do not think that any way the track is prepared will help the racing. The track shape seems to be an issue. It seems to be almost the perfect shape for non-wing cars, but the wing cars seem to find it narrow and difficult to pass on. You would have to ask Bud Kaeding or Evan Suggs or another driver who has run with and without a wing...

A few years back, the WoO show ran single file but the Late Models were three wide and all over the track trying to pass. Same track... very different races.

Maybe we should get aWoO Late model show and see whats up with that.

I was at the last WOO show at Manzanita a few years back before it closed, same thing. Not much passing and only about 20 cars, but DAMN they were fast.

My problem is not with the wings, my problem is with the size of the wings themselves for the outlaws. look back a few years at the size of the wings in the 80's and early 90's, they look half the size of what is on top today. No one can argue that back then the racing sucked. I say keep the wings, most of the country supports that style of racing and that is good for the business of Sprint Car racing in general. But make them smaller like they were back in the day.

I have been to quite a few ASCS shows and saw very good racing every time, the 360 motors make it a momentum thing where you can set a guy up for a pass a lap or two ahead. That is the equalizer that puts the show in the hands of the drivers. Unhooking the outlaw cars from the track by taking away down force would do the same thing...

BUZ. ,,, The track is what it is. ,,,, the driver has to learn the track ,,, as any driver drives more tracks ,,,,the better skilled that drive will become. ,,,, The PAS was designed for non wing Sprint car racing. ,,,, and the PAS is one of the best in the nation. ,,,, If you would have been at the last USAC/CRA show . ,,, you would have witnessed a perfectly groomed track. ,,,, from the time they started hot lapping ,,,,,, until the end of the main event. ,,,, at no time did the track get any water or grading. ,,,, YOU MISSED A GQQD SHOW. !!!!!!!!!!!!! I was not there. Was there really 2 passes the whole nite? Wow!!!! Another reason I call Woo the Formula 1 of sprint car races. I agree...apples vs oranges. Going to a Woo show is like eating a rotten apple.... Non wing 410 or 360 sprints....like eating a sweeeeet orange............Also best wing racing is ASCS 360 national travelers .Plenty of cars, Always plenty of passing at every show I've been to. They have got it figuered out.

I am not talking about track prep. Track prep has nothing to do with it, good or bad its the same for everyone. I am saying with the way the track is configured it makes passing difficult for the wing cars.

I don't know what you thought I was doing, but I saw a damn good show a couple of weeks ago and hauled up to Tulare where there was a pretty good wing race once they stopped flying them into the turn three fence. Along with a good non wing show.

BUZ. ,,,,,,,, The reason Winged cars don't do worth a damn at the PAS. ,,,, is because ,,,, the the tracks configuration was modeled after ASCOT. ,,,, Witch is where the most of us baby boomers cut our teeth on Sprint car racing. ,,, ASCOT was known as one of the most hardest tracks to learn on how to drive. ,,,, L O N G straight aways ,,,,,, TIGHT Turns. ,,,,,,As to where wing cars prefer wide turns ,,, with a little more bank to them. ,,,,This is the beauty of the PAS. ,,,, you just don't show up and go fast. ,,, Now the young guns that ran with the show on March 9th. [ first time on the track ] After 2 to 3 laps,,,,, these kids were HALLIN ASS. ,,,, they figured out the track surface QUICK. ,,, and were up and run-in 18 sec laps. at age 14 to 20. ,,,,, now I hate to say this ,,,,, If the world of outlaws ,,, can't figure out how to get around the PAS. ,,,, WOW. !!!!!!!!!!!. Like I said the ,, PAS was not configured for Wing racing. ,,,, with wing racing the cars go MACK 9 down the straight aways ,,,,, then drive into a tight left turn. ,,,, they are not made for that. ,,,, now I was not there . ,,, I don't care for wing racing. ,,,, But the show sounds like to me , ,,,,,, is the world of outlaws did not put on a potential show that you would have seen on a track as to were they could really put on a real ' World of outlaw show. ' ,,,,, And as to your comment. ,,,,, about track prep. ,,, your right there is no track prep that can fix the surface to make it any more friendly for wing racing. ,,,,,That is the beauty of the PAS. ,,,, You have got to learn how to drive it . ,,,,, I'm not trying to get hypothetical with you BUZ. ,,,, its that I have been around Sprint car racing all of my life. My dad raced from the mid 40s. ,,,, I was born into it in 1950. ,,,,, Its been in my blood ever sense. ,,,,,, In 1970 I became the starter at my local track ,,,,,,Cajon Speedway for 12 years. ,,,,,, than when SCRA came to life ,,, they were looking of a chief starter. ,,,,I started for SCRA 3 years ,,,,,, Than USAC came along. ,,,, And I started for USAC for a few years off on on and was a field official. ,,,, until I got tired of all the ' politics '. sense then I'm not sure SCRA giving out to USAC was the right thing to do. ,,,I think SCRA could have gone to higher highs than what USAC has done. ,,,, Oh well a ENOUGH of this bull-shit. ,,,, BUZ you have a good one. ,,,,, ZZ . ,,,,,,, AND OF CORRSE ,,,,,,,,,,, STAY THIRSTY MY FRINDS. ,,,,,FBW. ,,,,, [ THE TURN 4 HOOD ]
