If he did'nt cancel the NCRA shows there would of been around 40 sport mods like last year at every NCRA sport mod show. Ed suck it up and bring back the NCRA shows! It's not any fun to go to the races and have 6 classes with a total of around 50 cars.

Why is it all of a sudden Enid's responsibility to make sure the NCRA Sport Mods succeed? .

On Saturday which is the PERFECT night for racing according to you Jimmy they only had 22 in Beaver, Oklahoma last weekend - - we had 24 and that is after someone started a rumor we were rained out.

Never heard that rumor myself but 22 in the middle of nowhere is not too shabby where there are no sport mods on a regular basis. We had 13 last year at Muskogee so for Beaver that is not a bad count considering.

Now Ed, I have been one of your biggest backers, even when you were at Dodge City and I stood up for you on both message boards (whowon.com) and when talking to people. But I do request that you respect me enough not to go bashing NCRA because of your feud with the owner of the series.

The NCRA southern sport modifieds averaged 38 cars per event at all Enid races last year in what was the best count for both the series and the track. Without NCRA this year you got 24. I have not seen results or I would do some more figuring on that as well. NCRA has averaged right around 20 per show (some more, a little less but that is the average) which promoters seemed to have been very pleased.

With NCRA bringing in cars and with Enid hosting then the count could swell to close to forty again I am sure. Beneficial for both the series and the track. Now before you or others say "yes your an NCRA boy, I know where you stand" no you don't know where I stand. You would be surprised, just ask others. However, I just want to make sure your dislike for a person does not over shadow that the car count could quite possibly be almost double what it is now.

Of course, then we would be predicting what drivers are going to do and you can't do that in this business.

Again Ed, what little you know of me, I do hope you know this is not a bash at you. You can ask others who know me that I have not and will not. Just want things to be looked at on both sides - or all three sides for that matter.

after last sundays show there are several sportmod drivers that wont be back unless some serious safety changes are corrected. I cant believe that such a big time promoter cant see that it was only because of the NCRA sanction that them cars were there last year.

Let me make a point here, his next show is June 11 and the NCRA sportmods are having a race all the way in amarillo....(if Ed dont cancel or change date) Anyone want to bet that Enid doesnt pull but about 15 sportmods that night or maybe even less cuz I know of 3 that are in points races at other tracks that are racing saturdays...

I really dont mean to bash at all but I dont mind calling "bullcrap" exactly that "bullcrap"....

Funniest thing Ive read in paper in forever.... Ed Beckley expects to pull in more than 120 cars for his southern versus northern sportmod shootout!!! Wow, let me help you out Ed... This idea isnt original, its not even the highest paying northern versus southern shootout. Just being factual and to the point you will be lucky to get 50 cars for a 3,000.00 win show and if you go ahead and sanction IMCA then Im thinking even less cars show up. I think your idea of a big sportmod show is the way to go but I believe that your car count will suffer if you dont advertise it weekly and if you dont have someone personally handing out fliers at the tracks in texas, new mexico, louisana, and oklahoma. Is my opinion that no one really cares about a northern versus southern shootout but would be more interested in a big sportmod show against cars that all the same... If you need something to make it interesting then make it a "topless show"(no roof), been to many and they are always a fan favorite.

I give you all this for free, no problems!

After further review, I made a mistake. This year the average car count for the NCRA southern sport mods is actually 23 per show with 27 cars the highest being held at Thunderbird Speedway (they average around five or seven weekly) and 18 cars the lowest at Crawford County - that does't run them weekly.

Last years average was 29 cars per show, with Enid hosting those six races with NCRA.

Last years average was 25 cars per show if Enid didn't host not one NCRA show.

The average car count with NCRA being involved at Enid those six races was 38 cars per event.

Just wanted to clarify based on stats, not that it gives a whoopie-doo but hey, it is almost 1 AM and I am bored.

I would say its not your responsibility to make sure the NCRA sportmods succeed, they are doing that without you!!! I would say its your responsibility to provide the best show, that your capable, for the fans, racers, and owners. By far, last year, the best racing at Enid Speedway was during an NCRA Sanctioned Event.... I never heard any rumor about races rained out...
