Piss and moan?  I know full well they have a long season ahead. You're not telling me or anyone else something new. Perhaps they had a better reason that hasn't been shared as of yet.

It was dissappointing. It didn't inspire. Why do we tune in? To see something awesome. Watching guys start a feature and then head to the pits so they can make sure they get their start money doesn't inspire. It certainly doesn't sell t-shirts and create a fan base. That said, respect to Shane Stewart for giving it a go and then making sure to let fans know exactly what happened to his car last night.

Why bother with a reply? Did you have a tough day and just need to lash out at a random guy on the intergoogle?

You ask if I had a tough day?  Yea right!  I bothered to reply because it is obvious you don't understand that this racing thing is a business to these guys.  I believe also that I in no way lashed out at you.  Don't come back at me being a dickhead.  If you know so much about how this whole deal works, why the hell did you even start this thread?  These teams don't owe anyone any sort of explanation.  You are talking 50 thousand dollar motors and 30 thousand dollar racecars here bud.  I think without the rain earlier in the day many others would have stuck around also.  Once it rained they used logic to realize it was going to be a one groove race track.  Under the All Stars format of inverting the top 4 it was going to be dang near impossible to get through.  Also, did you see any of the cars after the A-main?  They were as muddy as it gets in this game which equates to double the time and resources at the car wash.  All of the teams that you are crying about have 5 more nights of racing coming up this week also.  I tried being nice in my first reply but you jumped out of gear with me and everyone else that tried to explain it.  Also, your "inspire" bullshit is a joke.  These guys are racing for a living.  What in the hell would inspire them into needlessly putting themselves or their machinery in jeapordy for basically nothing?  You make it sound like each and every team owes you an explanation of every decision they make.  Sorry to say, but they don't.  But hey, the next time these teams are in your area why don't you stop down and ask them personally?  I'd love to hear how that goes for you.

I pretty much agree with this. The amount of maintainence that probably would have to be done after a show is probably an even bigger headache than it normally is. Yes back in the day racers raced, but that was a time where the ratio between the cost of running & the amount of money received was a little bit more favorable. I also like how some are complaining about the Outlaw teams that pulled in and there is no mention of Aaron Reutzel who is the defending champion of the All Stars, Cory Eliason, and Spencer Bayston who are following the All Stars tour the whole year not racing at all. If you're going to be mad at 1 group be at the other group, don't just pick and choose your anger. Nothing contractually obligated the Shark Boys to race there any of the 3 days but they did. Raced 2 full days & had to make a tough call the final day.

I'm sure they were thinking that if they qualified well & got a dash spot through the heat race it may have been worth staying on the track but it just wasn't meant to be. The $40 that some paid (which comes to $13.33/night) is far less than the amount the teams have to pay to go up and down a road. And with all that Shark Racing has done to get to where they are, I would say that those two are racers and will race under 99 out of 100 conditions. Saturday was just the 1 condition that it didnt make sense.

The last few guys reminded me of the maintenance issue.  If you have ever run on a muddy track and had to do the maintenance, you wouldn't feel like you stole the money for doing a start and park, you would wish you had runt the whole race in the hopes that some of the mud would have fallen off.

Stroker_Race got it right.

Not enuf posters here, maybe only a couple, read Doug Aulds's full page editorial in last month's Sprint Car and Midget magazine about guys/gals on social media over-using bad language to criticize people while as he said it, "sitting in their mothers basement and anonymously hammering out garbage aimed at drivers, promoters, and owners" as well as other social media members, for little or no reason, especially when they don't know what they are talking about.  Was a great full page editorial that everyone here should have read.  Far far too much criticism, and when it gets down to beating on someone's writg scills its evn mor rediculous.

Here we go again...
However, you're right. Sharks ran 2 out of three nites, they have a grueling & expensive WoO tour ahead of them, & they're not a Big $$$ team. WoO season has to be their main focus. Its obviously their call

I can see why the original poster was disappointed, but c'mon....

Boy, you can tell there's not much going on in racing right now and not a lot to talk about.

Dude? You lashing out at me says a lot more about you than it does me.

You're 100% right that this as business. It's a business in an entertainment industry. Yes, I help pay their salary by showing up and buying merchandise. I travled all the way across country fron WA state just to watch them at Lernerville and the Kings Royal last year. I try to support racing as much as I can by attending my local track as much as I can. I don't understand why they charge so little. I would pay more to support the industry.

I'm of the opinion that rational people can disagree. There's no need to get personal and turn to childish name calling. I think the start and instant stop from the Shark guys was lame. Go out and run a lap so you can collect a check? Again, entertainment industry. If I don't like it I can choose not to financially support those guys. Was hoping that I would be wearing a 1A t-shirt this year and be present for his first win. I found out later that he blew an engine that day. Like I said in the first post, maybe I didn't know the whole story.

I started in with USENET back in 1993. I managed an enormous message board for Footballguys.com for about 15 years. If there's one thing I've learned in all those years it's that the written word will be read with the worst possible tone and intention in nearly all cases. I don't know you and you don't know me. I'm just going to let this go. You can have a final word if you feel the need.

Pretty sad times we live in that this conversation is even happening.

Bottom line is, Outlaw sprint car racing pretty much sucks now compared

to the early days.

I don’t think Shark racing or any of the other teams are going to hurt their fanbase much by pulling out of an unsanctioned race at the beginning of a 90-100 race season in track conditions that they determined were far more risk than reward, but that’s just me.  I think a lot of the teams treat the Bubba races as glorified test sessions in the first place.
