The majority of complaints from the races in 2018 were concerning the fumes and dust, both much more than in past years.  This year they noticably made a great effort to minimize these issues.  The preliminary nights were great and completed in record times with minimal dust issues.  However, Saturday took a much greater effort and time to prepare the track to reduce the dust. Yes, the show was drug out with a lot of down time and delays.  However during these down periods, the track was being reworked and the efforts resulted in a great track without the dust issues from last year.  For me, the trade-off was worth down time.

My only complaint about the Chili Bowl is the large screen monitor on the far east end of the track.  It is impossible, from the west end grandstands to make out the names and postions and the lap counter.  I understand that it would take a large amount of cash but I would like to see a 3 sided monitor placed overhead in the center of the track.  Which brings up the question, whatever happened to the large scoreboard that used to be in the Northeast corned, turn two that shown in large numbers and letters, drivers names, numbers, lap times and lap numbers?  It would be great to have it back.

All in all a great year with reduced fumes and dust.  Thanks to all that made it possible.

Yea, I was in the stands by Turn 3, couldn't read the scoreboard very well either. I'm not a Smartphone guy, but I'm glad the guy sitting next to me was.....
