REVISED: RED RIVER SPEEDWAY NOW SAT. 3/12 ONLY!

>>RACE TEAMS: PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO READ ALL OF THIS SO YOU ARE BETTER INFORMED...THANKS!<<

Wichita Falls, TX (03/10/16) by DarinShort.com. The Rumble at Red River is now going to become a 1-day event, this Saturday March 12, due to Friday's dismal forecast. But Saturday's forecast looks very pleasant. The same divisions will be racing on Saturday March 12, at the same advertised start time of 6pm.

And as long as the Saturday forecast stays as shown right now, it will make for spectacular racing conditions, as forecasted temps at race time will be 70° and dry.

Remember, Red River Speedway has fantastic drainage, as evidenced 2 years ago when 3.9" of rain hit on the Friday night portion, but the track was able to recover for an on-time start the following day. Again, as long as the Saturday forecast doesn't change between now and then, we will be set for a great night of racing.

The 'REVISED' Rumble will feature a complete show for the Texas Outlaw Modified Series (USRA legal Modifieds), plus a fantastic 1-night purse for the IMCA SportMods ($800/win and $100/start), IMCA Stock Cars ($700/win and $100/start, plus RRS-legal Pro Stocks are invited); and Mini Stocks ($300/win, plus Mod4 legal cars are invited). All SportMods, Stock Cars and Mini-Stocks that are non-starters or non-qualifiers will receive $40 each (which is a great deal considering there's no entry fee!).

The pit area Saturday March 12th opens by 3pm, with the grandstands opening by 4pm. Races are set to start at 6pm Saturday. All pit passes for all ages are $30 for all ages.

There are no entry fees due to RRS for the SportMods, Stock Cars or Mini Stocks. The Texas Outlaw Modified Series published purse, entry fee, rules and procedures are in effect. Modified drivers can click http://www.TexasMods.com for their rules, while all other divisions can visit http://www.RRSpeedway.com for all details.

Regarding the Modifieds, this Saturday's program will be a complete racing program, including heat races, B- and A-feature. Fans can expect to see drivers such as Billy Brierton, Bobby Malchus, Brandon Watson, C.A. Nix, Chad Ewell, Chadd Howell. Charlie Smith, Chase Allen, Chris Huckeba, Clyde Dunn Jr., Cody Smith, Colby Smith, Dale Miller, Danny Florence, Harold Winton Sr., Jay Baggett, John Nemetz, John Webb, Josh Landers, Logan Robertson, Michael Baker, Michael Daniels, Mike Dillard, Sam Cox, Shawn Gammage, Tommy Fain, Triston Dycus, Troy Taylor, Wesley Veal plus a host of others.

The SportMods, Stock Cars and Mini Stocks will run a complete program, consisting of heat races and feature races on Saturday March 12th. A great purse structure is in place for a one-night/no entry fee race at The Rumble at Red River. Here are their respective championship night purse structures:

IMCA SportMods: $800 - 500 - 400 - 300 - 250 (5th) - 200 - 175 - 150 - 125 - 100...to start. Any non-starter or non-qualifier will each receive $40.

IMCA Stock Cars (RRS Pro Stock legal cars are invited to race in this division): $700 - 500 - 400 - 300 - 200 (5th) - 175 - 150 - 125 - 100...to start. Any non-starter or non-qualifier will each receive $40.

RRS legal Mini Stocks (and RRS rules Mod4 legal cars are invited to race in this division): $300 - 200 - 150 - 125 - 100 (5th) - 90 - 80 - 70 - 60 - 50 - 40...to start. Any non-starter or non-qualifier will each receive $40.

In addition, the RRS Modified, SportMod, Pro Stock and Mini Stock divisions will receive their track awards from 2015 at this event.

If you are a racer that has questions about this event, feel free to leave Kevin a message at [email protected] or at 817-988-7433.

A revised event flyer is posted at the track website and on Facebook.

FRIDAY AFTERNOON WEATHER UPDATE for SAT. MARCH 12 (RACE DAY):

Well, the rain we were supposed to be getting today through 11pm tonight hasn't materialized yet. And their prediction yesterday was we were supposed to receive 0.75" today...then overnight they revised it to 0.51"...but now they've dropped it further to 0.38".

In other words, not enough to impact our racing on March 12th...as we have to water the track that much anyway.

But at least they're still showing a high of 69 degrees, dropping to about 56 degrees by the final checkers tomorrow; so unless something changes drastically between now and then, we're going to be all set for a great night of racing.

Feel free to follow along on NOAA with the latest hourly predictions, at: http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=33.9515&lon=-98.6687&unit=0&lg=english&FcstType=graphical

...and we hope to see you all tomorrow night - a great field of cars should be on hand as about all area tracks have gotten too much rain to race and have cancelled. But we've dodged it the past few days and are good to go.
