Just an 18 year old farm boy from Slater MO. Roy Hibbard finished 2nd in his first race, to him this was the 1st loser and that is not where he wanted to be.
After just a couple of races Roy never owned a race car again, his thoughts were, he did not like working on race cars but really enjoyed driving them.
Racing mostly in the Central Missouri area Roy had a lot of epic battles with friend Ken Taylor and Sedalia native Bill Utz.
Roy won his 1st track championship in 1961 with the C.M.R.A., this would be the 1st of four that he won, he also won back to back Missouri state championships in 68 -69.
Roy won 10 track championships driving either a super modified or sprints, the win he is the most proudest of is the Ken Taylor Memorial in 1966.
With over 700 total wins in his career it is no wonder Roy Hibbard is being inducted into the C.A.R.B. Hall of Fame.
