Some vintage fiberglass has been reproduced in the past years. Does anyone know if Nance hoods were reproduced by anyone such as the hood on John Stewarts #25 100" car on the champ cars of the 80's section? It has a lower cut injector box area. Also wondered if anyone can identify a Nance hood used on a 1978 model Nance car that may be on the site.I don't think i have ever seen a 1978 Nance style car or possibly I just don't know what i'm looking at or for.

if ya look at the picture of LITTLE AL UNCER in the lyle dill/ walter judge wrenched nance # 71 found on this racin from the rfp site, you will see the style of hood from 1979. i cant remember for sure but i dnn't think the 1978 hood being any diff. ther was a guy in the TULSA area who built older style hood, might have a mold of a nance hood. good let me know if i can help ya any further !!!!!! also look at the also if ya look at the salute to nance on the main page , lap # 2 you will see mr nance with the 1978 sprint. so not much differance if any at that tine, however mr nance was always trying various styles as the aluminum hood with the injector stacks out the side panels, this was in the early 80's.

Bushwacker,

Marvin West is the man in Tulsa area who you are refering to, he owned Broken Arrow Fibergrass. Marvin built some fine stuff he built the best looking of the Okie Sprinter bodies, he did the Hoods,Tails & Visor's for DP and alot of other bodies his stuff was always nice. I saw and talked to Marvin in November at the Legends Luncheon in Tulsa, he is now retired and living at Lake Keystone but he told me he still has some of his molds.
