2.13.09 / For Immediate Release Matt Speed / The Western All Star 800 Horsepower Super Late Models Will Invade Chowchilla Speedway
Saturday night April the 18th will feature one of the biggest dirt track racing events this area has ever seen. Chowchilla Speedway is proud to host the Western All Star Super Dirt Late Models and the Western Modifieds in this double header racing spectacular featuring the hottest dirt race car drivers in the Western United States.
Western All Star super star drivers like Hogge, Decker, Shannon, Griffen, Malcolm, Lowery, Obertello, Bartels, McDaniel, Johnson, Nichols, Papenhausen, and Kirkpatrick will make their first attempt to concur the newly configured 1/3 mile Chowchilla Speedway.
The Western All Star Super Late Models are the fastest stock cars on dirt. These are the same style of race cars as featured at Tony Stewart's Prelude to the Dream at the El Dora Speedway. These cars are truly an amazing site to see fly around the race track and most of the time with one of the front tires standing high in the air!
The second heavyweight class on this double header will feature the Western Modifieds. They have completed two spectacular races at the Chowchilla Speedway so far this season, and the huge crowd of fans will be looking forward to round three of this ten race series for the Western Modifieds. McDaniel, Papenhausen, Jeppeson, Stanford, Chadwick, Stone, Pounds, Villanueva and the rest of best will race hard to prove they are the king of the clay.
The under card classes for this spectacular night of racing include the Super Stocks, Hobby Stocks and the 4-Banger two track challenge.
Super Stock point's leader Mike Shepherd will look to hold off the hard charging competitors like Roy Hart Jr., Darren Thomas, Donnie Shearer, Mitch Enos, Shane Hauseman, Steve Hannah, Marshell Weaver and more great drivers.
The ultra competitive Hobby Stock class will feature up and coming talent like Shannon Porter which is a mere three points behind point's leader Danny Roe. Jarrod Fast, Stacey Marlow, and many more will look forward to displaying their talent in front of the large crowd this coming Saturday night.
The 4-Banger race will be the first of the six race two track challenge series featuring drivers from the pavement of the Madera Speedway against the dirt track drivers from the area. Point's leader Kathy Evans is in firm control of the overall points, but can she deal with drivers from both pavement and dirt racing, and all are curious to see the outcome of the two track challenge series.
Pit gates open at 1:00pm; grandstands open at 4:00pm for this giant night of racing at the Chowchilla Speedway. Qualifying for the 800 horsepower ground pounding Super Late Models begins at 4:30pm, with heat races starting at 5:00pm and main events scheduled to start shortly after 7:00pm.
Tickets for this huge night of racing were going to be twenty five dollars for an adult ticket, but thanks to race sponsors Shannon Pump, Richwood Meat's and support from Kenny Shepherd's Short Track Management Company they are now just $15 for adults, $7 for juniors 6-12, and kids five and under get in for free.
