Hey guys, been ging to Outlaw races since the early 90's, I got into collecting Sprint car Diecast int he late 90's early 2K's.  Forgot I had them till today and I have a question.  Are they worth anything (probably not) is there any resources on the web to sell them/value them?

I cant find anything, if this isnt the right place feel free to delete, thanks for any help

If you paid the market retail for the items when purchased then, with few exceptions you will be lucky to get that price back.  A few exceptions are some of the limited editions by Kinser, Swindell, Wolfgang etc.  An example the Kinser Superman Car in any scale will bring much more than you probably paid for it.  Unfortunitly, after the death of Dale Earnheart, the die-cast company's flooded the market with reproductions of limited editions and countless other variations of NASCAR and Sprint Car die-cast.  That flooding of the market affected the secondary market, big time and it has never recovered and probably never will.  I have suggested in the past that those wanting to sell their collections, consider donating them to the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and take the tax write off.  Because of the large numbers visiting Knoxville, they are able to sell them for much more than you can and it goes for a great cause.

yeah, Im not expecting to make money on all of them.  I just have them sitting int he boxes in my basement storage and thought maybe someone knew of a market place for them.  Rather see someone who enjoys them have a shot to complete a collection or otherwise.

Speaking of the Superman cars I have 2 of the legendary 11's one in the 1/18 the other in an unopened package of the 1/64 scale.  Price tag on the 1/64th was 9.99 back when I bought it, I remember seeing that car in person and loving it.

One of my Favs though is the GMP Jac Haudenschild "Lightning Car" good stroll thru memory lane this AM going thru these

I'm a collector and the best answer to your question is: they're worth what someone is willing to pay. Some like the other post said, have maintained a higher value. The Wolfgang GMP cars have been selling for $250 -$300 consistently for many years over EBay. The 1999 Jac Haudenschild Radioactive: Krytpon car is one of if not the most valuable due to the fact that a Copyright hangup due to the Kinser/Superman partnership that was going on for the 1999 Knoxville Nationals forced them to omit the "Krypton" part and change it to "Radioactive: Wild Child". If you purchase one of these, you'll see where they make quick revisions on the box & certificates of authenticity. Some of it depends on region too. A Rahmer car or Lance Dewease 461 car for instance would still be rather valuable to a fan and collector in PA whereas someone in another state probably wouldn't pay much if anything for it. Sometimes you stumble across some really good deals at racetracks and stuff. I've had that happen a few times. So really, it isn't like baseball cards. It's worth whatever a collector is willing to pay in most cases. I'm guilty for paying what some would consider too much for a few of the ones I have but it was worth it to me to have them. The Hodnett Apple cars really shot up in value after he was killed. Luckily, I already had one that's autographed but some of those were going for over $300.

hate to say it but diecast price have crashed.  one word ebay.  instead of having to track down a car and pay what the owner wants for the car. you are now a click away for most diecast ever made, and you may get what you paid for it but not much more.

even the rarest of rare cars are accesible.

I have mine displayed front and center. There isn't a day goes by that I don't look at it and have fond memories of watching him race and speaking to him upon occasion in the pits. I feel privileged that I was able to watch his entire Central PA career. When he came here in 1998, I was 12 years old and he instantly became one of my favorites when he won the Tuscaroa 50 that year. No driver ever exemplified what it means to be a champion on and off the track like Greg. He was the total package of bad ass driver who could win on any track in any conditions and a role model human being. I'll never stop missing him. I don't know of any driver who was more universally respected than he was.
