Has anyone else noticed he stays as far away as possible from the bull-rings?   I see he was going to Terra Haute yesterday but no mention of Haubstadt?  Go back and think about the last 1/4 mile track he ran?  I don't remember him ever being in Grand Forks either.  I know he went to California last year, but came home with a couple junked cars.  For all of those saying he would be a top 5 or top 10 guy with the WoO, he would have to go run the bull-rings also.  He is good at tracks that require big horsepower, but the more tactical tracks he struggles at.  I'd think he would want to take an opportunity like Haubstadt to sharpen his short track skills?  Nevertheless, he has some success on the big tracks and I give him credit for that.

Yes, I have noticed this--I don't think you are incorrect.  As dsc says, this is what separates the WoO from everyone else in the county, including the beloved Posse.  

I think Brian could be a top 5-10 guy EASILY if he decided to run full-time Outlaw. (probably closer to 10th the first year)  Could he do it on his budget?  I don't know that.  But, with an Outlaw budget, and the right backing, he would do just fine.  Just because he stays away from places he doesn't like to run now, doesn't mean there is no learning curve potential at these tracks.  He is a business man, and a very smart one.  Why would he roll a car out of a trailer where the results wouldn't pay for the efforts and he has the potential to----as you say, junk a couple of cars?   

I think there is a learning curve with anyone who is used to a specific track, or couple of tracks.  If Brian decides to be a regional guy and a true outlaw, he can pick and choose anywhere he feels comfortable about running as the name on the trailer says "Brian Brown Racing."   The same goes for Posse drivers/teams.  We give them a lot of crap for "staying on the porch" and not being able to run anywhere that doesn't have a PA zip code.  However, the same applies to those teams/drivers as well.  A lot of times, the money just isn't there to run wherever they want.  

I don't know if I'd agree that "he stays as far away as possible" from bull rings, I'm just not sure his schedule makes sense for it in most cases, given that he can roll to Knoxville with a pretty darn good chance of winning. He's ran 58 nights this year by my count and has another half dozen on the schedule, with extended trips on both coasts.  

Why haul to Grand Forks, which is 10 hours one way from Grain Valley, MO when you can drive 3.5 to Knoxville? 

I guess it's quite possible he's averse to small tracks, but it also may just be a byproduct of his location and situation. As for Haubstadt, I know he's a big Chiefs fan, maybe he wanted to go enjoy the game with a single night of racing? 

I think Brian would do fine on the WoO tour if he chose to run it, but that's a grind that few want to take on. I don't think he'd go out and light the world on fire, but I think he'd have a pretty good shot at running top 10 in points with a handful of wins.

If I'm Brian Brown I keep on doing what I'm doing. Pick and choose my best tracks, large $ races, sell some merch and make bank. 

He's built a nice team, why go through the WoO meat grinder? 

Id say this isn't an issue considering he has managed to maintain some pretty big sponsorships for a long period of time. The people helping pay the bills don't seem to mind so no reason for me too. Not sure if Brownies goal is to be a WoO as much as it's to win the Nationals & run his own team. The latter of which I think he does great at, plus he's great with the fans

One guy/girl comes on here and bashes on Brownie for coming east and making some profit and now another individual comes on here and busts his ass for not traveling to short tracks.  What problem do you guys have with him, spill your guts and let us know. To me, he seems to be a pretty sucessful racer running his own schedule, he is a nice guy living out a dream.

Brownie has very good sponsors who allow him to have a top notch race team and race close to home a lot plus travel to the bigger events he enjoys and has the best chance of running up front.  He appears to make a good living doing exactly what he wants to and doesn't spend the majority of the year on the road living out of a motor home.  What racer wouldn't like that??    

He probably doesnt choose short tracks for about the same reason he doesnt choose paved tracks. Because he feels he has a better chance to win on a longer track. Simple logical decision for anyone who wants to win and make money.

So for his current situation he is likely very well doing the smart thing.

As a fan, I prefer bullrings but if I were a driver and Charlie Garrett was my engine builder, I'd spend as much time as possible on the big tracks where my horsepower could best be utilized. Don't blame him one bit. 

He ran the Dirt Classic at Lincoln this year and had a top 5.  Your arguement has no weight.

Today I learned that Danny Lasoski is Brian Browns uncle. Cool. Who knew.

Y'all realize forums have monitors or administrators who ae held accountable for what they allow to be on and remain on the forums they are responsible for, at least that's the way it is in Canada.

Lincoln might be the smallest of the weekly tracks in PA but it’s far from being a true bullring.

Since he's running a "true outlaw" schedule, it makes sense for him to go where he has the best chance of winning. More power to him....

The one advantage to running the WOO is the ones that commit to that series  get tow money to every race.With Caseys based in the Midwest it makes sense to stay where that brand is best known.I would guess the Browns bottom line is better than all but the top cars who have basically unlimited resourses.At least he can decide when and where he races and is actually more of what a true outlaw started out as. The costs are escalating faster than the purses. THere are fewer and fewer owner drivers and even the top teams have to have dedicated sponsors.
