     I'm on the verge of asking who? I know..."Google it". I did. I've heard the name before, but thought he was a USAC racer from Indianna or something. It looks more like he's an ASCS racer from Washington? What's his story?

I cant tell you much but will enjoy most of the posts, other than the post you'll get saying you're lazy and idiotic for asking a question. But thanks for taking that risk, id like to know more also. Seems the A main had many drivers from places other than the PA, Ohio, and Iowa hot beds.

Short version, he was primarily a 360 driver from the state of Washington, who a few years ago, hooked up with Scott Gobrecht (Kevin's brother and owner of BAPS Speedway). Spent a few seasons commutting to Central Pa to run Scott's 410 with a few 360 races thrown in. The team was competative and had a few wins However, this year the team decided to race weekly at Knoxville since Trey and his brother have started a metal business in their home state. The team rented a shop in Knoxville......because of the weather they have not had too much track time or success, until last night........

I only know of past 3 years.

2017   First year in the 44.    Raced mostly in PA.   Had some success in PA winning a big race at the Grove and an All Star race.

I think it was in 2017 that he qualified for the Knoxville Nationals A main by taking the last qualifying spot from Lucas Wolfe in an exciting B Main.

2018   Raced mostly in PA I believe.   Not as much success as 2017.

2019.   Focused on Knoxville all year.   Not much success until last night.    Congrats Trey !!     

And NO......you will not have any Posse fans coming on here today and claiming him as one of our own, even though his car owner is from Central Pa and owns BAPS and part of Lincoln.....just sayin'

     Thanks for the link. Good on him! Looking at his record for this year, it doesn't look like anybody would have bet on him to win. That looks like a Cinderella moment he had last night.

Just to put in perspective what an upset this is, coming into this week, Trey Starks had won $11,000 in prize money all season in a. 410! He won $12,000 just last evening. 

I've seen him race up here in the Pacific Northwest a fair amount. He's one of the best in the region. He got my attention when he beat a good field of 360s at Willamette Speedway a few years back. The field included many guys from Northern California including Rico, Kyle Larson, Andy Forsberg, Kyle Hirst and others.

The USAC racer you're thinking of was Terry Starks from the Chicago area I believe. 

No longer racing as far as I know. 

Trey showed up at a Knoxville WoO show in April of 2012 in his own black #55... believe he was only 16 or 17 at the time. He qualified in the top 10 out of 40-some cars, passed Schatz in his heat (!!) hammering the high side to make the dash. I think he faded in the feature, but what he did up to that point was pretty impressive.  He’s had varying degrees of success at Knoxville since... last night was definitely the high water mark!

 I remember watching Trey around 2012-13 down in central California valley at tracks of Hanford and Tulare. He was young 15-16 and impressed me. I know he was in the black 55 family car and at the Cotton Classic in Oct a 410 race the week or two prior to Trophy Cup a 360 race. Definatly raced well at 2012 Cotton. TK won that year and Trey was a contender to win. 2013 Larson Won 410 KWS championship and Trey ran well again. Well enough to remember his accomplishments. Also I belive Skagit has a 410 division. The dirt cup was 410 those years. Any way that's my two Starks. Lol

Trey had also had quite a few setbacks in the weeks prior to the Nationals. He flipped twice at the 34 Raceway All Stars show, ran out of fuel running 10th in the Front Row Challenge and blew an engine in the Ultimate Challenge. 

Nice bounceback for a team that took a big risk coming to run Knoxville weekly.
