Just got a email saying Knoxville has partnered with dirtvison for 2019. So does that leave the cushion left out?

Dirtvision is taking over the world.  Just last week they announced full WoO late model coverage similar to this years sprint coverage  and the full UMP late model summer nationals tour.

I had nothing but problems when I purchased the cushion and nothing but good luck with dirt vision. So I think this is a good thing. I would also think it’ll be cheaper now with dirt vision.

I think it's just for the Nationals shows, not the weekly shows.

Knoxville weekly shows on the Cushion were around $20, actually slightly under if memory serves me.  I had trouble one week and they comped me another weekend of racing but aside from that no problems with their broadcast.  Hopfully they'll come in at a similar reasonable price for the weekly shows.

Dirtvision does a decent job of covering WoO races. I rarely watch the Cushion because I am always at Knoxville. I think they should have their own announcers instead of just plugging into the track announcers. They talk about things that the people at home probably don't understand because they are not there. They should have their own pit reporter and broadcast team, in my opinion. I also wonder what this does to any potential tv deals? Why would anyone want to pay to have a tape delayed broadcast if it has already been streamed? I am also curious if this will eliminate the radio coverage? I appreciate the product that Knoxville puts out every week but this is the way the world works. Money over loyality. I guess we will find out in April.

I rarely, if ever, experienced a dirtvision broadcast talking about something that I needed to be at the track to understand. As for their own announcers.... Johnny Gibson is the best. I love being able to hear him call the race from my living room. But it would be awesome if they somehow had a pit reporter. It would be cool if they could do live interviews during breaks and air them over the DV broadcast and PA system at the track simaltaneously.

SAF92 I understand what you are saying. I was refering to the Knoxville coverage on the Cushion. It would be hard for the Outlaws to have another traveling announcer. I think Tony does a great job at Knoxville, if you are there. Tony, Mike and Kris doing a lot of joking around that you don't understand if you are at home. Im not trying to sound critical because I think they go great. Just wondering if there is a way to improve the streaming product.

Doesn't seem to matter who is covering the races when it comes to the sprints, several things remain pretty much the same. Broadcast announcers tend to embellish the racing that is happening by exagerating the closeness of cars or the amount of contact that goes on between cars. The camera spends far too much time on the leaders, even when the leader has a full straight away lead. In particular, they have broken away from a pretty good battle on the last lap or so to follow a far out leader the entire last lap...or even two laps and then the camera freezes on the start finish line. Also, the announcer can be calling a heck of a battle on the feild and it seems like the camera is lost and focused elsewhere.  I know this has been a topic before, and it gets old I know, but if the PPV broadcasters want to improve their product, the need coordinate the audio with the video a bit better. I have probably watched as much sprint car PPV as anyone the past few years from coast to coast and I have no bone to pick with anyone. But I do prefer to have my eyes match up with my ears when I'm watching.
