Robert "Bobby" Martin 
1949 - 2018 

Phoenix - 69, passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2018. Bobby Martin was born in Phoenix on August 25, 1949. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1967, and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1968-1972. When he returned from military service, Bobby started Central Towing Service in Phoenix and remained involved in auto-related businesses throughout his life. He was also active in the auto racing community, and operated a racing team with Ricky and R.J. Johnson. Together, they won a number of championships in sprint cars, midgets and other categories. Bobby was an owner of Manzanita Speedway in South Phoenix and an officer and board member of the Martin Auto Museum. Bobby Martin is preceded in death by his mother, Marian Ruth Martin. He is survived by his father, Mel Martin, and step-mother, Sallie Martin. He is also survived by his stepbrothers, Mark Fallon and Kent Rudd, and stepsisters, Peggy Fallon and Karen Krejci. The family of Bobby Martin wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Lawrence P. Gassner and Dr. Francis P. Surdakowski for the care provided. Special thanks to Matt Moehling for his friendship and compassion in the latter years of Bobby's life. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018 at the Martin Auto Museum, 17641 N. Black Canyon Highway in Phoenix, AZ (on the northbound I-17 frontage road between Bell and Greenway Roads). Arrangments have been entrusted to Lowmans Arizona Funeral Home, Inc. (602) 276-3601

I had many good visits with Bobby at the Chili Bowl and on the road when they came to the midwest. Great guy. He will be missed.
