MSCS SPRINT CARS HEAD TO BROWNSTOWN ON JUNE 23

June 14, 2018 - Haubstadt, IN -  The Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car
Series will be back in action with an appearance at Indiana’s
Brownstown Speedway on Saturday night June 23rd.  The racing program
that night will be highlighted with the MSCS Sprint Car feature which
will pay $2,000 to win and $200 to start.  The non-wing sprint
portion of the program will include a slate of heat races and a B to
set the field for the feature.  MSCS normally starts 20 cars but one
provisional spot will be available if there is an eligible driver
from the series who did not transfer.

This will be the third appearance at Brownstown Speedway for MSCS.
This track is located at the Jackson County Fairgrounds and is a
slightly banked ¼ mile oval.  The series often races at ¼ mile
facilities.  Last year’s feature there was a victory for MSCS Series
Champion Brady Short.  In August of  2015 it was also Brady Short who
battled Dickie Gaines for the entire distance to take the win.  MSCS
events which were scheduled at Brownstown in 2016 and 2014 were
cancelled  because of rain.

Marion, IL, driver Carson Short continues to lead the 2018 MSCS
Points Standings.  Short is up 55 points over closest rival Brandon
Mattox of Cory, IN.  Mattox is off to a great start on the season.
Hard charger Robert Ballou currently ranks third.  Ballou has two
runner-up MSCS feature finishes while that next win eludes him.
Series regulars Donny Brackett and Kent Schmidt round out the top
five.

Aric Gentry heads the second five in accumulated points.  Kyle
Cummins is seventh followed by Garrett Aitken, Kevin Thomas Jr., and
Collin Ambrose.  Former Rookie of the Year Brandon Morin is just
outside the Top Ten in eleventh.

MSCS has held six features so far this season.  Kevin Thomas Jr.
dominated in winning the first two feature events.  Then Stephen
Schnapf changed the trend with a breakout win at Tri-State in early
May.  Memorial Weekend events produced three different winners in
Tyler Courtney, Carson Short, and Chase Stockon.  Courtney was second
in the feature held at Brownstown last year.

In addition to a complete MSCS show on the 23rd, Brownstown Speedway
will present the winged Racesaver Sprints, the UMRA TQ Midgets, and
the Open Wheel Modifieds.  The expectation of added excitement exists
throughout the pits.  Track promoter Jim Price has an all out open
wheel spectacular planned for spectators to witness and enjoy.

The combined result should be one spectacular night for RACING!  On
track action begins at 6 P.M.  Racing will follow the hot laps and
qualification runs.  Brownstown Speedway is located a mile southeast
of Brownstown, IN, on State Route 250.  That is the next destination
for MSCS competitors and fans!
