No (big) surprises in the WC 360 feature as Richard and then Jace took to the top of the widened racing surface to run away from a field possibly depleted by car prep for next weekend's $4K-2-win Peter Murphy Classic at Tulare... tho Tristan Guardino's podium finish came from the back on the lap 10 restart, and he had to pass recent CRA feature winner Austin Liggett to do it.

The bigger surprise was (barely) 15-year-old Brooklynn (sp?) Holland's 2nd place finish in the 25-lap RaceSaver (winged) 305 feature. In only her seventh race in high-powered cars after coming up through the micro sprints (so sayeth her father), the slender blonde won her heat... and -- after struggling with a tire after three separate slugfests and a pair of 360s that went her way -- she headed off the track, got new rubber, came back, and ran the top (rather like Richard, and, well, like Tim Kaeding) and passed about 18 cars. I don't know if she would have passed Visalia's almost unbeatable Blake Robertson had the race been a 30-lapper. But she was headed in that general direction after zipping by Jared Faria, Kyle Rasmussen, Albert Pombo, Brendan Warmerdan, Steve Tyner (yes, that Steve Tyner) and series point leader Grant Duinkerken.

I asked her dad who was training her. He said he was trying, but, "She doesn't listen much to what I say." And then he shrugged. Yet another yoing lady to keep an eye on? Pretty likely.
