A main Tim Crawley, Kent Buckley, Tommy Worley. Very good race.

Thanks for the update Dirt
Guess they had a great crowd with the weather and $5 night.
Did they have enough for three heats of the sprints?
What time did you get out there
Graduation stuff kept us away

Yes 21 sprints. Crawley was in Joe Reddick‘s 12X. The place was packed. Pretty much a butt in every seat.

It was an excellent race. Buckley drove his ass off, but couldn't get around that last lapped car to seal the deal. Tough break for him, as up to that point he was masterful in his handling of traffic.
My one complaint, as has been for years with SFCR, is the pace at which they run the show. They screw around more than any other track I've been to (I know thats superlative, but they're surely up there). They should have finished all 5 features by 11 at the latest. Instead, it's 11:30 and the sprints are just wrapping up. On $5 night, with a chance to make a great impression on many fans who wouldn't attend otherwise, sending them home after 11pm is not wise.
They do so many things that could save them a minute here and there to drastically speed up there show. No more victory laps for the winner of each race. When the lineup is correct, cut the yellow light (as long as the cars are no further than the turn 2 light) and drop the green next time by. And there's absolutely no need for the long intermission. The track was ready, the drivers were ready, get it going.
Hopefully the ownership sees this as an issue as well and takes the proper steps to adjust. The current ownership has done an excellent job with the track and it's program since taking over, and I'm confident they'll clean this up. With 5 classes and zero B mains, show should end around 10-10:30.
Overall, great night of racing. It may seem like I'm complaining a lot, but I truly only want the best for one of my local tracks. Pevely is just as bad at screwing around, so its certainly not an isolated issue. Best part about the night was the racing surface. Absolutely stellar. Hats off to the track prep team, as they really did an excellent job saturday night.

Granite City, Haubstadt, Kokomo, Belleville all do a good job at keeping the show moving, allowing fans who have driven long distances to get on the road - it’s just smart business. Farmington will get in figured out. Seems like promoters are working hard

This is the current promoter's third year with the track. I'm curious as to what signs you see that they're getting anything figured out?

Sheer optimism I suppose
They do a good job on FB with their fans and track prep seems good. I guess I can understand tracks needing to run many classes. I mean whatever they have to do to make a profit and keep the place open, I'm all for them as business owners. But from a business perspecitive, have never understood why they don't make their sprint car fans happy and run their feature first or at least second every week. Nothing against all the hard work and money local classes put into their cars, but people don't drive 2-3 hours to watch those classes.
