GOLDEN EMPIRE SUPERMOTO
AMA SUPERMOTO WEST
ROUND #3
Saturday May 20:
IRWINDALE SPEEDWAY!

FLASH: High-flying, heart-stopping, knee-dragging, elbow-scraping Golden Empire Supermoto racing is coming to Irwindale Speedway on Saturday night, May 20!

For the first time in many years (14 to be exact), motorcycles will roar at Irwindale Speedway in Supermoto competition that combines traditional motocross with flat track AND some roadracing thrown in just for good measure.

The national-level event is part of 2017 seven-round Golden Empire Supermoto Series which kicked off over the April 8 and 9 at Kern County Raceway up in Bakersfield.

The fast, twisting Irwindale  course will be a real test for some of the best riders in the country and a rare treat for southern California fans of great Supermoto racing
This action-packed motorcycle series has proven a hit attracting national champion Supermoto racers and full grids at each race weekend. The 2017 schedule offers seven premier events with classes for Pros, Amateurs and Vets and special exhibition classes at many venues.

Golden Empire Supermoto is based on paying pro racers top money while building talent.  Racing at two of California's TOP facilities and putting the racers in front of THOUSANDS of fans every round, it is a series aimed at bringing Supermoto to the forefront of motorsports.

Supermoto has proven fertile ground for developing talent such as AMA Pro racers Cameron Beaubier, Bobby Fong, Joey Pascarella, Tyler O'Hara, Garrett Willis, Dominic Colindres, Ryan Kearns, Elena Myers and Gage McAllister, who have all honed their skills racing with SupermotoUSA.

The motorcycles will join the ticket on one of Irwindale's famous "Nights of Destruction" where motor-mayhem is the name of the game, and things are 100% guaranteed to go "bump" (and bing, bam, boom as well) in the night.  There'll be the "usual suspects": a trailer race, the skid plate cars, and a figure 8 race, all "tuned" to keep Irwindale fans on their feet more than they're in their seats.

"With these bikes aboard, we honestly expect to sell out before we even open the gates for our guests at 4 o'clock," said track VP of Personnel, Hugh Schenkel.  "This is one of those nights when we really advise people to buy their family's tickets on-line (www.irwindaleeventcenter.com) ahead of time.  Not only will they be able to walk right up to the ticket gate when they get here, they'll pay $5 less for each adult ticket and not have to wait in line."  Good advice for any racing event Irwindale, even more important for fans planning on being there on May 20.

"Golden Empire Supermoto and AMA Supermoto West are very excited to have the opportunity to bring the sport of Supermoto back to the crowds at Irwindale.  California is home to some of the fastest motorcycle racers on the planet," said Cody Cates GES Owner/Promoter,  "It only makes sense that we bring Motorcycles back to the 'Crown Jewel' of California short tracks.  It promises to be a great show, so... SEE YOU AT THE RACES!"

Gates open to the public at 4PM with the traditional, family-style "On-Track Autograph Session" at 5:45PM (meet all the drivers AND riders) and the show will start at 7PM sharp.  Get there early, get tickets ahead of time, and get ready for another great night of excitement and action at Irwindale!
Tickets are going to go fast for this one and a sell-out is forecast.

As always, fans are advised to secure their seats early on-line at: www.irwindaleeventcenter.com or by calling:  626.385.1100. Remember ... there's a nice $5.00 discount on each ticket purchased on-line before midnight May 19.

Adult Tickets for this event are $15 at the gate, Seniors and Military pay $10, Youngsters 6-12 are $5.00 and the under 5 crowd is in free.  Gates open at 4:00 pm the family-friendly On-Track Autograph Session begins at 5:45pm and is included in the admission price, and racing starts at 7:00 on the dot.  Parking is $5.00.
