Longdale Speedway Ready for MARS Late Model Invasion!
 
 
Longdale, Oklahoma – May 6, 2016 - We are just one week away from one of the biggest weekends in the tracks young history as Longdale Speedway in Longdale, Oklahoma is set to host MARS DIRTcar late model series as the Missouri based organization highlights the tracks second annual “Walleye Rodeo Weekend, “next Friday and Saturday night, May 13-14.
 
This event will be the inaugural appearance for the MARS DIRTcar series as their scheduled appearance last year was nixed due to rain.
 
Tony Jackson, Jr. is the three-time and defending series champion and will lead a strong contingent of drivers to the Northwest Oklahoma big three-eighths mile oval. Justin Asplin, Payton Looney, Jeff and Randy Roth, Leroy Johnson, Brandon McCormick and Jeremy Payne are just a few of the touring regulars expected to compete. United Modified Touring Series hot-shoe Rodney Sanders of Happy, Texas is also slated to compete as well as Wheatland, Oklahoma’s Randy Timms and Missouri’s Jason and Josh Hughes.
 
A strong contingent of local area drivers is expected to give the touring regulars a run for their money, led by Enid’s Kip Hughes. Other area locals expected include Mark Harrison, Darin Busch, Damian Patocka and David Hennan.
 
Western Oklahoma’s only IMCA sanctioned track will also see modified ($1000 to win); sport mod ($750 to win); stock car ($600 to win); as well as the tracks grand national ($500 to win), pure stock ($400 to win) and intermediate sport mods ($200 to win) divisions. Pay is valid for both night’s racing action.
 
Friday night grandstand general admission is $15 for adults; seniors and military $12; ages 6-12 $5 while kids ages five and under will be admitted free. Saturday night grandstand admission is $20 for adults; senior and military $17; ages 6-12 $5 and kids ages five and under free.   
 
Gates for the second annual “Walleye Rodeo Weekend” open at 5:00 PM both nights with race action slated for a 7:30 PM start time.
