Late last night Highway 3 Raceway approached Midwest 305 president Bob Hildreth and expressed some interest in a race! Highway 3 is a very nice 1/2 mile dirt track in Allison Iowa. The downside of the race is it could possibly be on a weeknight. Remember! its just an idea.. nothing set in stone.. I will keep you all informed!

Number of people attending the Boone Speedway race is on the rise entries the 33 of Travis Lain and the Southern Style 11s of Shadrach Sporaa are committed to the race. remember call Mid West 305 President Bob Hildreth to let him know you plan on attending the race (641-373-4111) by doing so you will be added to the list of people to contact when the races get booked!

Boone is one of the best facilites in the state and would be perfect for 305 cars. The often asked payout question should not be the reason to race or not .Consider yourself lucky that Bob H has been able to get the chance to race there .

Boone is a nice facility but payout is the deciding factor for alot of teams including myself, if we were all independently wealthy we wouldnt be racing 305s.

Would you have to join the Midwest 305 series to race at Boone?

That question will be discussed tomorrow at the midwest 305 meeting. In a normal season the membership fee is 20$ per race or 60$ for a season to stay in the points. Some people will look at it as a bad deal. but the Mid West 305 club is getting the name out their and trying to get races. With a season including 4 races at Boone, possibly races in Dennison, Allison, Marshalltown, Decora, Cresco and Algona. That would be a solid season and a good reason to join the club. Joining the club is just helping the club and yourself in the points fund at the end of the year

Hello Midwest 305 Sprint Car Drivers and Fans. We have been presented the chance to race at Boone speedway in Boone Iowa. The races will be on weekends that Knoxville does not have 305s scheduled. They want at least a 15 car field. If interested please respond to the Mid West 305 president Bob Hildreth at (641-373-4111) Thanks!

Bob ,how did your meeting go.Have spec sealed engines that actually are available thru GM ever been discussed,I know several lower class and even some late model tracks seem to think that is an option in racing to save costs. It seems the racers themselves always want better equiptment and be able to run things the class above them. The Knoxville 360 class ran 2 barrel carbs and steel wheels their first year and now they cost nearly the same as 410 and race for less than 1/2.I hope people like yourself can help keep 305s as a class for beginers or others that want to have fun that is affordable .Dwarf cars costing near 20K racing for $200 are an example. If you didnt know and 305s were the top class they look identicle to 410 just a few seconds slower but still faster than the 410s were many years ago.

Koddy, there is still nothing on the web site on the meeting last Sunday. What has been deceided on the Boone races? Will there be a published purse? Is there a tentative schedule to be posted?

Sealed spec engines have been discussed but are not allowed, Knoxville doesn't allow them and we are following Knoxville's rules.

How many drivers do you have interested? Do you have a list? Sounds like a few travelers may show.

I have asked questions about this race on Hoseheads only. I have not contacted anyone about whether or not we will be attending any race. I am waiting to see if we need to purchase memberships with The Midwest 305's or not before we make up our mind as to whether or not we will make an effort to show up. If we have to buy memberships we will not be racing at Boone.................. Destini Clark has quit driving and will not be behind the wheel of a Sprint Car any more. My car may show up if it looks like it would be beneficial for us to do so. One HUGE problem with 305's is that they all want the cars and no one wants to cover ANY expense to get them there. (tow money - reasonable payout to make the show - etc. etc. etc.) Will it be worth while for my 305 to make a 4 hour trip one way to race at Boone? We are not really sure, it depends upon who is driving my car. If I have a beginner driving it then maybe, we will see.

The payout is posted on the midwest 305 homepage. Sorry to hear that you lost your driver. Hopefully your car will still have a great season. If you cannot make the race it is understandable.
