I was just thinking how many posts and responses I've had over the years. Can someone enlighten me on who are some of the original hosers, are they still active, and how long this message board has been active?

I'm thankful we have a place outside of the main social media world, where we can share info despite some of the low IQ posts.

Too long....Long enough to have very active on the Stan M run gotomn.com boards.  But I think in 2004 there was a new racing message board as I recall having to re register.

Looking back to some threads I think 2004 was the earliest I saw as a "joined date"

I think I might have been a part of that Stan M board as well.  But seriously, I created a website around 1997 or so and upped the game from personal homepage in 1999 and got a domain name.  We were both using a different message board provider and this deal came about around that time.  They were offering free boards for webmasters so I took them up on the offer.  I took down my website in 2016 and notified the that I was "retired" from running a regional racing site, writing and photography at that time.

These days people get most of their info and do the majority of their arguing on social media.  Unless someone is a daily content creator (and a helluva lot younger) the websites I don't think get as many views as they did before social media.  These days I sit home with Dirtvision and Floracing.  The back and knees can't take chasing races anymore.  I always approached it as just a hobby and retired from my day job at the railroad in 2018.  Anyways, this board has been around for about 20 years and I have been participating since it's inception.  Not all that much anymore but I still am in the habit of checking it.

I go back to the beginnings of the original message board in the mid-to-late '90s...I'm thinking 1997 or 1998.  I believe slideguy is correct that there was a changeover and we had to re-register our accounts.  I was very active back then, not so much now.  I distinctly remember always getting ticked off at Nelligan (aka MSPN)...ah, what time teaches you about taking things too seriously.

I didn't register until June of 2000, and from what I understand the board was already going downhill, I just sort of hastened the decline. MSPN was here back then and stirring the pot with central PA. He was on the road as a traveling photog so he had some street cred. There was Wertz, Stubb, The Open Wheel Wizard (troll),  and the Bear I think who had really good info, prob still does. Occasionally there was Race Car Johnny who had ties to Kreitz I think, he was one of the more entertaining writers , I hope he is still above ground.  Lots more I'm forgetting.

It got really good around Kings Royal & Nationals time, mostly about the Posse and their lack of travel. It was mostly in good fun, I think. lol

I was very active on the MN board at one time as well. I think I also held the record for the most posts on the NMRA board in Sioux Falls.

Long, long time ago, I can still remember!

Saphead's date is 11/30/2004 and mine and many others are in December 2004.  This must have been when we needed to re-register.  I am sure that I was on a lot earlier than in 2004.

Not a charter member but have been active on the board for at least 20 years.  Years ago, sarcasm, bantor and outright personal attacks were commonplace.  Not so much anymore.  I miss the old days with MSPN, no-dust, big-right-rear, hawker and a host of others.

My date shows 2006 but I was on the Open Wheel Wizard before that.  I can't recall the timeline or board provider but both this site and mine had a different board.  Anyways, for me it's been seven years since I shut down the website and got couch locked.

I have been around for a long time but the arguments got out of hand.  At one time you could learn quite a bit on this site.  It will probably never be a great place for inside information again but there are some really good posts on places to go/stay/eat etc.. for newbies.  As long as there is some posts that try to help out the fellow racefan I will still venture by once in a while.

I joined the SCRAFAN message board in the late 90's I think. I didn't frequent this one until much later since I was a bit of a wingless snob at the time and most of the talk on this board is about winged sprinters.

There has been a message board here on my site since it started in the 90's. The first was run out of the state of Washington by someone whose name I totally forget.I think Michael something. Jeff came along and has been doing a great job for 20 years. I was a member of the open Wheel Wizard site also. Modem and Windows 95 when I first started Hoseheads.

I've been lurking on this board since the late 90's. Got my first PC in 2001 and signed up for this board, had to re register a couple of years later but didn't care to so I just stayed in the background ....for a while.

My memory of the earlier membership were :Hawker, Stubb, Petey, MSPN, BRR, Q-man, Staggs, J. Root, and more. Man, did me and MSPN/ Nellie get into the posse vs. the outlaws. Holy crap, he just loved yanking us posse chearleaders aroiund and man we hated that guy. I'm the one that nicknamed him "Nellie". Alas, Mike was a good guy having fun with some goofy kids and adults..

I saw MSPN and some big round guy a Big Diamond one day during a USAC race, they were carrying around pitching wedges so I decided not to introduce myself to them, Ole Nellie had some forearms on him and the other guy was was bald and fat..

Good times!

Some of you guys have met, or had existing relationships? I've only had one race friend, ask me if I was "yungwun24" on hoseheads.
