The High Limit Sprints are doing the 2nd race at Sheldon Haudenschild's home track, Wayne County Speedway on Tuesday September 27. Sheldon is apparently promoting this race.

I am surprised to not hear much about it on here but I do realize this board is not much about the Ohio tracks anymore.

Money was just raised to over 30k +

Was just going to post about this.....Evidently the winner of this race will now get $32,020!

Wayne County Speedway, Orrville, Ohio, Tuesday Sept 27th will host the High Limit Buckeye Brawl sprint car meet promoted by Sheldon Haudenschild.

95% of this board amounts to about 10 people arguing with the idiot, sadly. Should be a great show at WCS - looking forward to it. Imagine you'll get all the All Stars and the Ohio teams. 40+ car count?

Should be a great show!  Glad it is over 30k!  We need more high paying races in the middle of the week.

Can't wait till next year.  Hopefully the outlaws will loosen the reins a little on there drivers.

Let's go Sprint Car Racing!

Knoxville - Best Track In the USA!
Eldora - 2nd Best Track in the USA!

I hope Blackjack Brown shows up. He was roaring for these midweek races and never showed at Putnamville.  Brent Marks also said if something like this was put together, he would be there.  He kept his word and was at LPS...so id guess he will be at Wayne County.

Justin Sanders will be there in the 39.

Yea there's like 12 people left unfortunately.

I was somewhat disappointed by the car count at LPS for the first show but this one should get into the 40s assuming the locals support it. $32k is outstanding money.

I made a thread about it on August 31 when the races was first announced, but no one commented on it in the thread. It was a bit surprising that the users on here didn't seem to care after the first High Limit race seemed successful.

The one thing that might keep people away is that it is on a school and work night.

The second thing is I see tickets are Grandstands $40 adults. Kids 6 to 12 $20 and kids under 6 Free. That will discourage some from coming if you have kids in that range.

I love when kids are free for 12 and under,  not a fan of paying for that age range. Cause then that money will be spent at concession cause kids love to do that. Adults never seem to mind paying higher prices for themselves if their kids get in free.

I still lurk and saw your post just didn't have anything intelligent to add. Most info I get anymore is from Twitter if you want me to be honest. Idk the future of Hoseheads but 90% of what is posted is just meh. The only time it's enjoyable is if something is controversial or we need to solve the sprint car world's problems. Maybe we solved all the problems and that's why it's dry now? Idk. Smile we can go back to correcting peoples grammar and name calling if that spurs views I guess? Anyhow, lightly monitoring the High Limit Races so I'll post some info on what I have seen.

To add fuel to this fire look at what Jennifer Marshall is saying on Twitter. Things could get real for the WoO in a hurry and I'm sure decisions will need to be made in the coming year....

JM twitter - SUCKS ROCKS that the WoO’s drivers can’t race even though they are off and able to race it to make some money. Especially Sheldon at his home track.

Strong words from a car owner and appears they have asked permission to race. Tip of the iceberg? Tell me what you think.

It's all money politics.

Sheldon can race. He would probably lose everything he gained by signing a WoO platinum member agreement at the beginning of the year, and probably all his year end points, points fund money and travel money. It's a business for the WoO. That's why they protect their turf. I'm not saying it's right, but that's what it is.

Next year, all those teams that want to run both series can do just that. They just have to not sign the WoO exclusive contract that gives them guarantees. True outlaw might mean hungry outlaw. It will definately be interesting to see how this all shakes out.

Murphy, I agree with what your saying. If all the guys on the platinum deal decide not to sign then I think WRG will have to rethink there stronghold tactics they have on the sprint car teams.  If you consider a full season on the outlaw tour I'm not sure what the dollars add up to by being a platinum member.  There's always been speculation about the deal but I know and understand why they keep it quite.

wow.  $20 for kids too.  that might be a game changer for me if they come into pa.

two separate issues related to that.

1.  i hear people talk about going to your local track instead of watching on flo which i understand.  there are so many races in so many different places though.  promoters can't keep trying to sneak in extra races and still expect the fans to turn out 3 days/week sometimes.  the market starts to get pretty saturated and it get expensive especially if racing isn't the only thing you do on weekends.  maybe the tracks can work better deals with the streaming services.  tv money is king in every other sport.

2.  i'm bringing this up here because i figure mostly all star drivers will show up...

i don't feel like the all star roster is particularly strong right now.  courtney is probably their top car and he hasn't had a great last few months.  consistent...but not winning and we know that's what everyone cares about.  outside of peck who seems streaky...there doesn't seem to be anybody else that stands out.  ppm was hurt unfortunately.

the all stars seem to quietly be struggling.  they have great events especially here in pa and are supported by local drivers.  they're also getting their butts kicked here in pa this year.  i don't think it will be as easy for macri, marks, dewease, and dietrich to clean up when the outlaws are here for the national open.

i root for the all stars to do well.  don't get me wrong.  they might need things to be shaken up as much as anybody though.  a few more relevant drivers would really help them.

The problem is there'll always be somebody willing to sign on the dotted line. If cars like the 2 and 17 choose not to sign it creates a financial opportunity for other guys that otherwise wouldnt potentially sign up like the 11, 13, or 26. Just like the NST year they'll get somebody out there

I agree.....but also no one knew there was going to be these races at the beginning of the year and no one held a gun on these drivers to sign that contract.

Next year if they sign this contract they should have in it they are allowed to run these races.  I just hope Larson and Sweet don't sanction them.  Keep these shows the way they are and let the cars that want to come and race.....race!

I see this as an opportunity for tracks near a WoO event that normally would not have a WoO or ASCOC event to book a midweek show.  Example, when the Outlaws are at Devils Bowl,  book a show at Lawton on Wednesday.  Or if the Outlaws are at I-70 or Lakeside, book a Wednesday show at Salina Ok or Witchita.

Exactly, there's between $100k-$300k of value (depending on where you fall in the points) to being a full time WoO member and I'm sure others will step in should Sweet, Haud or others step out.
