Wow.....Never saw that coming? Who would have thought that team would be one of the first major break ups of 2019. I guess silly season has officially begun.

Just won an outlaw show 3 weeks ago... crazy. Good luck to DR Racing on finding a better duo than them.

This is out of left field. Thought this was a great combination/team, always fast and won huge races. My wild speculation is it has to do with travel, either one side wanted to travel more and the other didn’t or one side wanted to maybe race more locally and the other didn’t. Either way hope both sides land on their feet and get something to finish the year

My thoughts were either that or maybe another driver that has funding behind them maybe is getting the seat. Wouldn't be the first time in racing that the latter situation has happened

No matter what the reason, I would have a hard time believing it has anything to do with performance

I agree.....in all likely hood that it was a $$$$ decision. Maybe DR got tired of spending. I am sure we will hear more about the split. If the DR team doesn't fill the seat, then it was a money issue. Tim/Cody make a good pair and with the right team and situation, they will be fine.

My top 3 all-time favorite drivers; Larson, Shaffer, TK, in that order. First time i ever saw or heard of Tim was his 1st ever race in the Beef Packers 83, 2001 Cotton Classic @ Hanford & he won it. Been following him as have my racin' buddies closely ever since. Like Kingpin says, he's always fast & wins big races, in pretty much whatever he's ever driven. He is having fun racing the schedule he's been running, with a little hunting & fishing in between. Hopefully he finds a ride somewhat on his terms so he can continue to have fun with it all. Look forward to seeing him at Trophy Cup again this year

Shame to hear that, I always watched how the 49 team placed in the run down.

This team has been looking for sponsorship help since they began, and we still haven't seen too many new or large sponsors on their car. My guess- it has to do with money more so than anything. Then again, I have no real idea.

Apparently, Shaffer didn't know anything about it until 10 this morning per this article https://sprintcarandmidget.com/other-sprint-cars/tim-shaffer-loses-ride-with-demyan-rudzik/

9Saw they did have Wicked on the car at Knoxville not sure how new that was ,hopefuuly it was Tims and he is already on his way to Kane.

If not the #9 then he should give Barshinger a call if Lucas is done for the tear he would be perfect for all the big shows coming up.

That's an interesting read. They mutually split but he did not hear about it until 10am. Equally interesting is they split with Cody Jacobs as well. Makes me wonder if either 1 they are closing up shop or 2 someone is bringing money & a crew chief.

There was no mention by the team of closing the doors.. maybe it has something to do with the wicked energy sponsorship??

Wicked energy has been on there most of the year if not all year

Would think someone would get him in a car soon.  Always seems to be near the front even at the big shows
