Did you expect 18 or 30 by now?

It's a Chuck deal, of course it sucks.

He said some time ago (I'm thinking about a month ago) that he was getting ready to announce up to 10 drivers or something along those lines.  I'm sure he just forgot to announce it.  This race is definitely happening, In case you guys didn't pick up on it, this is all sarcasm.

Don't worry about it they are all waiting till right before the show to enter. No one wants to show their cards to soon or others may not enter. The late entry fee is only $75,000 so no need to make the early entry deadline.

Stick a fork in it, it's done. The Nascar guys aren't coming to play.

No monkey-poop, no flying elephants.

I wonder if there will be a few entries tomorrow for the 5000 or is there "fine print" forbidding that on the last day?

Fromt Thier Web Site:

Release August 5, 2019

Despite our best efforts to attract racing teams to “THE Race” slated for next week at Huset’s Speedway, we were unable to secure the minimum participation level to hold this epic event in Brandon.

Might as well move up the Auction date Chucky.  Nobody is paying you $7.4 million for the race track.

Kind of saw this coming when the race was announced. "It will all go and the facility will be decommissioned," is not a good line for the future of the track. Asking price is simply too high, bottom line. It doesnt matter how he tries to spin it, no one is going to pay $9.3, $6.2, or $3.1 million. Listings have happened, auctions have been attempted, and the word has been out for a couple years now. I'm sure he has had interest in purchase and people are willing to buy the track. Big thing about real estate, buyers have to be willing and able. Because of the asking price, people that are willing are not able and the people that are able are not willing.

I'm sorry for all of the people in that area. It is a sad time for you. Wish this guy never showed up into the sport.

Shocking.  Forgot all about the race until this thread.

I still wish I could win the Powerball, build an identical track to Huset's within 1 mile, and raffle it off with $1 tickets!  Smile

Oh, the smartass things we could do with $100 million.

I'm thinking of hosting a "sucessful" Fyre type weekend festival at the track.  All proceeds will go towards me buying the track for minimum selling price from Chuckles. (That is, 3.6 million).  Please consider to coming to my outdoor concert, mud run, beer bash, drunk olympics, etc for the low price of $500 per person.  VIP packages available for $2500 per person.

Limited to the first 15,000 people that sign up.  Advertising for this event will be available for $5000 per sign.  Naming rights (Budweiser Sonicman1 Fest) available for $100,000.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me 14 times, nevermind.

So not only did Chuck basically embarass himself with this thing, he paid $15K to the three teams that entered because of the $5000 entry bonus thing he did. Not to mention whatever other fees he had tied up.

Well done, Business Master Chuck.

Who knows? Not sure what his relationship is with Kevin Rudeen, Josh Baughman or the Roths, but if they truly tied up $200K of liquid cash in escrow for a short period of time, I could see why they would want the $5K.

I was thinking today that this race should have happened. The Woo could have taken the top 18 guys in their points list, paid the entry fee for each and then collected the extra 400,000 in prize money. Pay each team 20,000 tow money and split the remaining 40,000 in a fair purse so they actually get something to race for. Woo gets the 3.6 mil to cover the entries. Each driver gets the equivelant of 2 1st place finish pay checks or more and the annual Epic Fail Challenge gets birthed.

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!
